Toast dressing gowns, worth the money? Any other options

So it’s thoroughly winter here in the north of Scotland and I’ve been looking at dressing gowns. I really like the Toast Sashiko one but it’s £95 which seems a little extravagant! Anyone had them before and do you think they are worth it? Do they ever have discount codes? Are there and cheaper good quality alternatives out there? My usual M&S type ones all look a big rubbish these days.

That's doesn't look particularly warm though.

No I suppose not but I love the fabric and the colour, so many are white or other pale colours or the dreaded fleece/towelling material, I’m stuck!

Men's dressing gowns are much nicer and warmer. I have a proper old fashioned one, ideal for chilly mornings and getting the wood in. I got one similar to this from e-bay for about £30.

Wow love these only thing is I’m very small, chubby but only 4’11” so I don’t think I could wear men’s ones

The wool one is lovely!

The Toast one doesn't look that warm, more late summer than winter to me. I've an old M&S full length cashmere one that is amazing. They've not any in stock at the moment but they tend to be around £200 and you can often get 20% off.

Not as luxurious but I did try this one at M&S and found it too short, but a nice dressing gown otherwise. Might be worth a try? You might need to size up in it, it was on the smaller side.

Off topic but if you want a laugh this nightdress is worth a look. You definitely wouldn't be cold, but you might suffocate!

I have a Pip Studio one, was a bit pricey but it is lovely and warm and looks good too

There's this John Lewis waffle cotton gown in deep grey that's quite nice for half the price.

I like the one you've chosen though and really, you get so much wear out of them. On every day. It's worth spending a bit and getting them right.

I had this Hush one for about 3 years and it was lovely.

I splashed out on two of the White Co gowns and they have been great. One in use, one clean!

What is actually going on with that M&S night dress, I just don’t know where they are at sometimes. John Lewis one looks interesting, good colour and a lot cheaper than the Toast one but probably warmer! Thanks everyone

That John Lewis one is a fab, straight out the bath thing. You could also get a massive warm cardie from Celtic and Co for really warm smug lounge wear.

MrsPestilence · 04/10/2017 19:17

That was meant to say snug Blush

I haven’t got a thick Toast one but have a thin cotton one and like it a lot. Roomy, lovely fabric. The thick ones are very expensive but look lovely to me. I tried one on in an outlet store once and was tempted.

LunaTheCat · 04/10/2017 19:30

Toast is lovely but wait for the sale.
