Post birth help/intervention needed!

Hi,

I'm hoping that someone will be able to give me some post birth clothing help. I have a 4month old and have been making do with pregnancy joggers (now full of holes), a handful of nursing tops and a couple of jojo dresses but I am coming to realise that I am not happy with how I look - none of these are clothes I would have worn pre pregnancy and I feel dumpy in them- and I need to come to terms with my size and shape now rather than ignoring how it's changed in the hope it will be temporary... The problem is that I don't understand what will suit me any more and I don't have the time to speculatively try loads of outfits on in the shops with the baby in tow (and I don't like sending clothes back if I have bought a load just in case they fit).

Pre pregnancy my style was very much either outdoorsy jeans (bootcut normally) and tshirts or 1950s style dresses with full skirts. I have never liked the tunic style dresses that seem to be most nursing options and never really followed trends.

I am 5ft2, bust 39in (but my milk came in uneven so I am now noticeably lopsided), waist 35.5in and hips 42in. I need things that I can breastfeed in. Does anyone have any tips as to the type of clothes I should be looking at? TIA!

Get a load of vest tops to wear under tshirts, cardis, deep v jumpers or shirts that you like, then you can pull them up without showing flesh.

Dresses are a bad idea unless they unbutton

And scarves with everything!

You see I've heard about double layering but I'm still not sure I see how it works. Is it the bottom Ayer that goes up and the top layer down? And do they need to be a bit baggy? I can't see my old tips having enough give to be able to pull down/up.

With a vest top on you can just pop your boob out covering your modesty with your scarf whilst wearing your cardi /unbuttoned shirt or pulling up something a bit baggier like a jumper

Get some Camis (those spaghetti strap stretchy undershirts) to wear under your sweaters/long sleeve shirts..you pull the sweaters up, and pull the Camis down over your boob, so your stomach is still covered by the cami.

My friend who just gave birth likes leggings/exercise pants with the control top waist to give her tummy support too. Basically soft and stretchy clothing for all the bending over to pick baby up/nursing/post partum comfort

H&m is your friend. Spaghetti strap vests under thin knit jumpers. Team with decent skinnies or jeggings, preferably high waisted (try new look) and some slouchy ankle boots. Job done.

There’s a facebook page called “can I breastfeed in it?” That has some amazing ideas!
I’m 6m PP and EBF my lb so I know the struggle. ive only started dressing like pre baby me the last month or so.
For me, Primark vests are a life saver. Can buy loads for the same amount I paid for one nursing vest, and they’re stretchy enough to pull down to feed. Then I wear whatever tshirt/jumper/shirt over and put on my jeans or leggings.
