The exciting world of... wait for it... hair bobbles!

OK so that wasn't worth waiting for but now I have your attention: recommend me some hair boobs that will hold super fine, super slippy hair without snagging it and ending up needing cutting out. If they could have built in homing devices so they don't vanish when you put them down for a moment that would be good too.
I've tried the ones that look like phone cords and they caused tears.

Hair scrunchies as in the fabric things like these?
I didn't even know you could still get them!
When I wore them in the 90s they just slid straight out of my coarse, frizzy, thick hair.

Invisibobbles.

I always lose the fuckers though.

Pop bands

NormHonal · 03/10/2017 21:19

(Hair ties - you can wear them on your wrist when not in your hair.)

MikeUniformMike · 03/10/2017 21:59

I use snag free hair bands from primark or scunchie. they're cheap and don't snag too much. I also wear scrunchies as they don't snag at all.

Workingonthemoon · 03/10/2017 22:31

Eurochick, I had high hopes for those but I found them uncomfy in my hair and they tangled my daughters. God knows where they go though - I had loads of them!

Normhonal - do the popbands get tight enough to stay in place? We're talking very straight, very fine and very slippy hair on a very boistorous girl. I won't be wearing them on my wrist though. Wink

MikeUniformMike. Are you talking about fabric scrunchies like the link above or something else? I onky ever buy "no snag". They all lie.

I've not had this much issue with my hair and bobbles so I don't think it's user error. :)

Sainsbury's hair bobbles (children's) are amazing. My dd has super silky hair and theses manage to withhold school all day and clubs at the weekend

Hair cut? Much less stress all round. Fewer nit out breaks and when DC can look after their own hair they can do the pony tails etc. 1920s bobs for young girls look very stylish to me.

Workingonthemoon · 03/10/2017 23:18

Elephantoverthehill I would love her to get her hair cut because it would be so much easier for everyone and much neater but she won't. She also looked adorable with a little bob. She loves her hair though and is very vocal about keeping it long.
