Comfy boots for the vain...

I need a pair of comfortable black boots, but am struggling to know what I'm actually looking for and hoping you stylistas may be able to advise.

I drive to and from work, but have to park a 15 minute walk away.

Work dress code is smart although not 'business attire', so my uniform is usually a fitted dress, black opaques and black high heeled ankle boots.

My feet are really suffering from pounding the pavements in heels twice a day, though, so I need something comfy to do that walk in, warm enough for the winter and preferably fairly cheap (as I won't be wearing these boots a lot).

However - this is the vanity bit - I am a manager and have to walk through security/reception in a very public, client-facing area before I can get to my office to change. So I really don't want to be arriving in Uggs or trainers.

Is there such a thing as a pair of nice, extremely comfy black ankle or knee boots that won't look ridiculous with my work clothes? Or am I just a vain idiot? Grin.

How about a pointed flat? One that's more formal & structured.

I had a great pair of pointy brogues with a 2 in heel that were perfect... this was years ago though. Am SAHM now.

rightknockered · 01/10/2017 14:56

How about these

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/10/2017 15:20

Have you looked in Clarks?

PNGirl · 01/10/2017 15:50

How about a pair of black Chelsea ankle boots along the lines of these:

www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,10/2882100078

They go nicely with a dress and tights.

PNGirl · 01/10/2017 15:51

Sigh - sorry, you'll have to copy and paste the link!

PolkadottyRose · 01/10/2017 15:53

M and S did a pair of suede footglove ankle boots the last few years. They were beautiful, and as comfortable as slippers. The design has changed slightly this year, but they would be worth you checking out.

OnTheSherry · 01/10/2017 16:53

Ideally I'm looking for something not too pointy, as my bunions toes rub.

The Whistles ones are way out of my price range...

Nothing has grabbed me in Clarks. They're all a bit 'correctional shoes'.

Chelsea boots might fit the bill, but I'm loathe t go for anything too 'shiny leather', as I have big feet and skinny legs, so I look like I'm wearing wells Grin.

Will investigate Marks!

Thank you all.

I think I have the boots mentioned and broke my ankle in them - they came just a bit too low to offer any stability and I fell and smashed my ankle while wearing them. Make sure they're stable!

Clarks have got lovely boots in this season, so many styles to choose from, in every shape, style and colour going, plus they are always super comfy and well made.

What about these? Not super stylish but look pretty comfy?

Mrsmumtobe · 02/10/2017 13:27

I'm looking for virtually the same here, though my preference being mid calf height but will watch for replies!
So far been to Debenhams, Clarks, Schu, office and New look without success. Though I am aware I am a fussy bugger Selective

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 02/10/2017 14:07

Seconding chelsea boots, and ones that sit low on the ankle would look better.

But I'd say that walking 2 miles a day is wearing them a lot!

wineandworkout · 02/10/2017 18:24

I got these last week and accidentally walked about 5km the first time I wore them - super comfy and warm, and can be dressed up or down.

Thegirlisnotright They're pretty snug width wise. But I have wide feet and they're not too narrow for me. I read reviews which say they stretch a bit too, though I haven't experienced that yet.

OCSockOrphanage · 03/10/2017 12:24

My Celtic & Co catalogue has just arrived and I am coveting the wilderness style. In diesel blue, not the taupe shown.

talktotheface · 03/10/2017 13:23

I have just bought these - really comfy and feel flat www.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/2,10/2287000078

ScrambledSmegs · 03/10/2017 13:32

Ecco are supposed to be really comfortable. Not cheap though.
