Arrrrrggghhh! Please help. Spray tan gone wrong!

So against my better judgment I listened to my friends glowing recommendation and had a spray tan. It was in a automated booth.

I am now an uneven blotchy mess! 😧

I go on holiday Tuesday. 😱

I have exfoliated to within an inch of my life.

Please, please someone tell me I can correct this in time?!

Go for a swim in your local pool. It will pull your tan off.

ShatnersBassoon · 30/09/2017 08:50

Did you count Mississippily?

Can you still buy Vim?

pickledsausage · 30/09/2017 08:50

Oh noo :( I've had so many fake tan disasters in my life so I sympathise!! You should be fine by Tuesday, just do everything they tell you not to usually - hot showers, scrub dry, no moisturiser for a day or two. I've found having a bath with bath oil helps loosen it as well.

Did you exfoliate before the tan? That has been key for me in my extensive research, that and moisturiser on hands, feet, knees, elbows before applying.

More sensibly, would more moisture in the skin help? Slather a load of E45 on, then have a go at exfoliating.

ShatnersBassoon · 30/09/2017 08:52

OK, no moisture. I've never had a fake tan!

Ninjakittysmells · 30/09/2017 08:57

I think boots sell tan removal wipes. Ib your shoes I would exfoliate like buggary and then put another fake tan on top to even it out.

splendidisolation · 30/09/2017 08:59

I have tried lemon juice and nail polish remover scrubbing to remove insane tide marks with good results. Try scrubbing and then soaking in a hot bath, scrub down with towel when you get out, moisturise, repeat in the evening, then use a light quality self tanner to try and kind of merge it all together.

Alternatively, invest in a burkini

blahdeblah04 · 30/09/2017 08:59

Lol no I’m not Ross. But that episode was in my mind before I went. 😂

I did exfoliate, I can only assume I didn’t hit the positions correctly and maybe not dry for long no enough.

The assistant was very quick with the explanation. I should have made her repeat it.

I have oiled and scrubbed and shaved. I just want it gone. ☹️🙄

Burkini it is then! Wink

Would another spray tan help?

I would book into a proper salon this time.

Crushed dishwasher tablets have been rec'd on here before and apparently worked really well. Personally havent tried however and it sounds pretty ... harsh!

MeriReu · 30/09/2017 11:59

I fake tan every 2/3 days and if I ever want to scrub it all of I have a dettol bath. The brown dettol in the bath then soak for a while then use a tan eraser mit to scrub off :)

SinglePringle · 30/09/2017 12:04

Go swimming in local pool (chlorine helps lift it). Then have a bath with oil in it (baby oil is fine). Use a loofer in the bath. Then put more body oil on and exfoliate with a rough towel. Repeat till lifted.
