Is lush henna for me?

I have long curly hair. When I had more money and time, I paid for ballayage to add cool creamy tones on individual curls and at the bottom. It looked lovely. I have naturally light brown hair with gingery hue, and having the ballayage meant I just had to get color done once a year as regrowth looked so natural.

I can no longer afford decent hairdressers and my color is all but grown out. I am starting to get some greys, which I am really excited about, I would like to fast forward to a lot more grey coverage (am 40).

Right now though, my hair looks really washed out. I want to add some depth and richness to it. Really tempted with lush henna, but will that mean I end up getting roots that need sorting or will it fade?

I don't want to have to do a hardcore transition to Grey after dying it. But I can't leave my hair like it is, it's so flat and depressing! I'm not interested in dying to cover greys, just to add shine, depth and Lustre.

Will henna fade or will I have roots to contend with? I was thinking of the brun as it's got no red in it.

Apologies for random capital letters. Phone being odd

If you want your grey to come in then I wouldn't advise anything permanent all over as you will get blocky regrowrth. Highlight or more balage is your best bet I reckon but I guess you want something you can at home. So no help really sorry! I would really caution about permenant all over dye if you want to have naturally grey hair

I kind of knew it, maybe I will pop a temporary color over it and see how that goes.

Id love the color of Russian girl from bake offs hair (and her eyebrows too Blush). I used to be able to afford regular color, but I can't see it happening for a couple of years and I really want to get it sorted.
