Thank god!

So this is brave of me ... I bought the dress (sadly before all of the hoooo ha just because I wanted a casual midi navy based dress for weekends). It is polyester but not scratchy. I am short. It is, I think, an elegant style. I like the print because it is not flowers or spots. I have altered the sleeves though because they were well annoying.

They did a net dress in the same print. That was Halloween fancy dress.

SinglePringle · 28/09/2017 07:25

I too have this dress. Looks good on me! I have another - not too dissimilar but reds - from & Other Stories too!

CarolinePenvenen · 28/09/2017 07:59

I hate the dress but adore the print. Why can’t they make a lovely scarf in that fabric? Or a top?

Fekko · 28/09/2017 08:43

This dress is part of a range (which I call Mystic Meg) that is all swirly purple and moon/star/galaxy patterns. I really did think it was Halloween costumes for a while before I had a closer look one day.

kaytee87 · 28/09/2017 08:43

I'm pretty sure someone working for m&s is having a bet as to whether they can get women to wear ludicrous things like that just by advertising.
I mean it seriously does look like a Halloween costume.

Fekko · 28/09/2017 08:46

Oh m&s where did it all go wrong? There have been some fantastic turkeys recently (blamanche frock horror, Victorian shroud chic, Halloween mystery frock...)

Trollspoopglitter · 28/09/2017 10:47

If someone incredibly photogenic who make a living modelling clothes and making the clothes look desirable cannot look good in this dress.... and photo editing didn't help either ... yeah.

theresamustgo · 28/09/2017 10:49

so frumpy!

Everyonelovessparkles · 28/09/2017 11:00

Saw loads in the sale yesterday. Expect it's just the terrible m&s online stock control making it 'sold out'....

SukiTheDog · 28/09/2017 11:06

Made up story I think. No one created a frenzy over that. Surely.

Peppermeant · 28/09/2017 11:09

This dress is really not that bad. I don't know about frenzy-worthy but certainly not awful

Brickshed7 · 28/09/2017 11:43

You do see that the dress OP posted about is different to the one QueenofLouisiana posted a photo of? I don't think the one in the original post is too bad. The net covered one on the other hand IS total Hallowe'en. Grin

CanIBuffalo · 28/09/2017 12:03

kaytee or has someone on the team who makes these horrendous gaffs decisions got a relative who needs daya for a phd? Wink

CanIBuffalo · 28/09/2017 12:03

Data

CoolCarrie · 28/09/2017 12:52

The print is lovely, but those pleats etc are so frumpy and fussy, don't like the style of this at all.

Opheliasgoldenwine · 28/09/2017 15:57

I actually quite like it Blush

Chestervase1 · 29/09/2017 15:22

It is still available in my local M&S, not sold out at all, there was a whole rail yesterday.

Fuck me, it's VILE. Sold out? For a 2nd time? Hmm

Opheliasgoldenwine · 29/09/2017 15:34

Am I the only one who thinks it's quite nice? I don't think I could pull it off but I quite like it Blush
