Can't believe I'm having to ask - hairy hands?

As per the title, I've always had a little light hair on the backs of my hands near the wrist and on my fingers, but as I've got older it's got darker. I'm sick of it sprouting out from between my wedding and engagement rings like fungus but, unsurprisingly, hair removers tend to be advertised for legs or bikini lines, not hobbit paws Blush What's most likely to work?

Ah, look at him there with his hairy hands!
^unhelpful. Hope someone with actual advice appears soon!

Would you try waxing them? I got my arms and backs of hands waxed for the first time last week, and I am really enjoying the smoothness (I had VERY hairy arms!).

If you don't want to have that done at e.g. a salon, would you try epilating? I epilate my toes... again, very hairy Blush As there's a minimal amount of hair, it really doesn't hurt (much) - I do it about every 3/4 weeks.

Probably because those are the areas people are most likely to want to de fuzz, rather than because it’s not suitable. Surely the skin on your hands is more robust than your bikini or pit skin? I would totally use remover cream

My friend is really hairy and she gets her arms/hands waxed

Electrolysis. It's especially good for dark hairs that are sparse. Assuming you don't have hairy ape paws.

You need to commit to it - probably for about a year every 2 - 3 weeks - but it's life changing. No more waxing shaving angst.

TROLL!

Just kidding, just wanted to feel like a hunter Grin

I’m the hairiest woman alive without being a warewolf person. I shave the fuckers off, hands and arms.
It’s a pain but every hair remover cream I try just makes my skin react and I’m too much of a wimp to wax and too poor for lasers/electrolysis.
I’m not exaggerating either I seriously have hair where no woman should and of course it’s dark because I’m just that lucky!

Hair removal products are advertised for legs and the 'sensitive' products are advertised for underarms and bikini lines. This is purely because they are the most common areas to be de-haired. Not because you can't use them anywhere else.

If your looking for a temporary but easy solution then use a razor or hair removal cream (be sure to test it on your skin before you spread it all on in case of allergies) results last a couple of days.

For results that last a bit longer (up to 4-6 weeks) professional waxing, home waxing or epilation. Professional waxing is quick and fairly cheap for the part of body you want, even cheaper if you use shop bought wax strips. Epilation is a one off purchase that you can do at home. Both a little painful but not massively going to hurt you. Ingrown hairs are more likely though - but a couple minutes with some tweezers and that's sorted. Overtime the repeated removal of the hair shaft from the hair follicle weakens the follicle and can cause damage, which makes new hairs thin and weak and no at noticeable.

Long term solution would be laser therapy, expensive but very reliable. Hope this helps Smile

Shave.

Postagestamppat · 27/09/2017 02:35

I bleach my arms and back of my hands. I also trim the length of the hairs with scissors about every 1-2 months. I have considered waxing or shaving and using a lumiere but I don't like the idea of regrowth or stubble on my arms.

PrimeraVez · 27/09/2017 08:07

I sometimes get my arms waxed, and this includes the backs of my hands and my fingers, or sometimes I just shave myself. In my experience, re-growth is much, much slower than legs or armpits.

I started epilating my arms and hands about 10-15 years ago and now I only need to do it about twice a year. Now when the hair grows back in now it is fine and fair.
I'm really fair and the hair on my arms and hands used to be really dark.

I use a normal epilator, the same one I use on my legs and underarms.
