Help me decide what to do with my hair

So I had my hair cut into a short crop, the plan was to have all the dye cut out and see how i looked with the mix of dark brown and grey that was left. But i was left with some dye on the ends and i kind of looked like i had weird frosted tips like justin timberlake in the 90s. I planned put a semi permanent dye on, but managed to use a permanent one (blame feeling ill and lack of sleep). I've been thinking I might just shave it all off now the crop has grown out and looks awful, maybe like a number 3 or 4 so not bald.
Has anyone done this? Any words or encouragement or warnings not to
Im 37, short and slim, not particularly girly, with aDD aged 1, and my partner doesnt like my hair short, but its my hair, not his

I say do it but then I'm an enabler.
I buzzed my hair off after a terrible cut at the hairdressers (which cost an absolute fortune). I asked her to cut out the bleached bits of my hair so I would be left with only my natural hair, my hair was shoulder length at the time.
My aim was to embrace my natural colour of grey/white/silver. I have also always wanted a buzz cut so thought to hell with it. Out came DH's clippers and a number 3 guard. I love it and surprisingly so does DH. Its grows to about a number 8 within a month and that looks like a short crop/pixie.
Upsides.
The feeling of the water falling on your head in the shower is lovely, its like a gentle head massage.
If you get caught in the rain then your hair doesn't get drenched making you feel uncomfortable.
Your hair drys within 10 minutes of getting out of the shower.
You use less shampoo and of course there is no maintenance or styling.
Cheaper to get trimmed/cut. DIY.
Condition of your hair is improved, no more dry crunchy dyed bits.
Downsizes.
You will need to wear a little more makeup to soften your figures and brighten up face.
When you wear foundation you will have to be extra careful to blend blend blend.
Your head will be cold in winter as hair is great insulation. Hats will be your friend, this isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Finally, everyone and I mean everyone will have an opinion on your hair.

Sorry about the length I didn't realise I was babbling so much.

Go for it, there's always wigs and extensions

I've seen a few women sporting amazing looking buzz cuts. Just check that your head isn't lumpy before doing it.

I don't think I have a weird shaped head, but it is something I've worried about, that and looking like a random 80s skinhead throwback reliving her youth
