Cheap but good?

Currently looking to update my wardrobe a little. I have too many clothes but it's all old and I barely wear any of it, I also seem to lack "basic" pieces that help put an outfit together.

I can't afford expensive clothes. And I don't want anything expensive ATM either as I have 2 v young DCs and always end up covered in food/dribble and other substances.

I'm looking for some basics like comfy cardigans (which I have none of) that can just be put on with jeans and a tshirt and look half decent.

I've looked on eBay and found some bits that look nice, including a longish cardigan for £12.99! It's all in uk so no deliveries from China or etc but I'm still a bit concerned about the pictures not reflecting the true quality of the clothes.

I'm looking for recommendations for cheap pieces that look ok. Where to look and if anyone's bought anything (from eBay or similar) that's ok quality and value for money.

Any tips?

Try F&F at Tesco.
Lots of nice things at reasonable prices.
Easy to return if you don't like it! Smile

La Redoute (online orders), especially in the sale - very cheap. Quality is generally very good for the price and easy to return if you don't like it.

Charity shops . If you have time to hunt around, you can find some great stuff. I have loads of 'designer' clothes that cost me just a few pounds each.

Basic plain or patterned cotton cardigans you need primark. Beats anything else in every £10 a cardi price range by miles

Sainsbury's Tu is the best quality of the supermarket brands by a long way.

Next. M&S. Generally my advice would be to wait for sales as much as possible and buy better quality stuff at the price that cheaper clothing usually goes for. Oh, you can also try outlets or TK Maxx or sonething-I was in the one in Stratford and they had lots of nice things from crew company, Ralph Lauren, red baker, toast etc at very affordable prices.
