Treatment to remove broken blood vessel from face?

Snozwanger · 18/09/2017 19:46

I've been having terrible breakouts for the last year and am awful for picking spots. I squeezed one breaking a blood vessel on my nose and it's been permanently there ever since :( I'm gutted as it's a nightmare to conceal with makeup).
Is there any kind of treatment available to get rid of it do you think?

Following. I have the same thing. Its a pain isn't it!'

I did this once, and had it treated at the hospital. I think it was cauterised.

Katmeifyoucan · 18/09/2017 20:15

I think IPL can help or an injection that collapses the vein as Nearly said.

IPL or (much cheaper) electrolysis. I have had both and effects just as good with the electrolysis.

Snozwanger · 18/09/2017 21:23

I've heard of electrolysis but what is IPL? I've never paid for any facial treatments and am wary of choosing the right place to get something done. How do you check someone is properly trained to do those sorts of treatments?

Great questions snoz! People always say to check credentials but I have no idea how in this context.

I have the same thing on my top lip from waxing! Blush. I'm having electrolysis now, the electrolygist is going to zap it for me once my top lip is clear.

Reading with interest on behalf of my dad! He has lots on his nose and hates them - he was a teacher and would get kids telling him he had pen on his nose. He did go to the GP years ago but they said nothing could be done as he'd had a thrombosis a long time ago (caused by being immobile after an operation) I imagine new technologies have given him a few more options now.

Electrolysis but by christ it's painful!
