High Street/Legal Aid lawyers - what are you wearing?

I'm in desperate need of a work wardrobe overhaul and I don't know what I'm doing!

For context - I'm a family legal aid solicitor. I spend half my time in a very run down (cold) office in a very run down area and the other half at court or in meetings.

Court days are easy, I wear a suit (although I need a new one). In the office though, a suit looks overdressed. I have a selection of jersey dresses but they are all very old and have seen me through the last few years after 2 children so not in the best shape.

I never wear heels, only brogues. Heels are no good for nursery run/dashing to a meeting, plus I just can't walk in them.

I get all my clothes off eBay (thanks, legal aid budget) so I need some pointers of brands to look for that will be smart enough but not too "corporate".

Also, I look very young even though I'm 32 and anything too tailored makes my look like I've raided my mum's wardrobe.

I'm a size 10, bottom heavy.

Any advice greatly received.

I'm a lawyer but in house in local government so have to be smart but not court smart every day.

I wear a lot of Cos - their trousers are a good shape for me - fitted, stretchy with side zips etc. They would be good with brogues. I also have a lot of their tops. Also get cashmere from Jaeger outlet and merino from Uniqlo. Also buy jersey from Baukjen and Meandem.

I'm a lawyer, (litigation though not legal aid but not city corporate either) and office days I tend to dress slightly more casually. I wear a lot of shift type dresses or ankle length fitted trousers and a shell type top which can have a jacket over for court or a cardigan for the office. I tend to buy M&S, Next, Banana Republic, J Crew, Jigsaw, Reiss and the odd Sainsbury's dress for work. Others in my office swear by Hobbs but I don't like the fit on me.

Not sure if any of the above is helpful or goes with brogues as I'm a stiletto girl through and through! Currently pregnant though which produces its own work clothes related issues! Happy shopping!

Thank you!

I'll look again at Cos. I'm a bit scared of "grown up" clothes, I know it's daft. If I could work in dungarees I probably would.

Will investigate all recomended brands in an attempt to smarten up!
