I have a load of Boots points saved up and really want to use them to get a lip oil, as I could do with a bit of colour but am rubbish with lipsticks.

Which ones have you found to be good?

Thanks in advance...

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is lovely. Keep one in my bag and on my desk. They have a number of different 'colours'/fragrances in the range.

Came here to say Clarins too - I have the bluey-green one, which is supposed to make your teeth look whiter, but there are some lovely pinky colours in the range which I will be going back for.

Me too bigfatfeet, I think it's called Mint. I quite fancy getting the Honey one.

Girlywurly · 12/09/2017 15:27

Ooh great - I was leaning towards the Clarins one. Thanks everyone!

What the buggery is a lip oil? Intrigued!

Timefortea99 · 12/09/2017 18:21

Doesn't it just slide off? Also intrigued.

It's supposed to be like a lip balm, but less sticky (I think). I've just popped into town to try the Clarins one that was recommended here. By some strange alchemy, it feels not at all oil like when it first goes on, it's actually disappointingly sticky, but this stickiness seems to soon disappear. Am I right, experienced wearers?

I've only ever heard of a Clarins lip oil. Do other people do them?

CantChoose · 12/09/2017 21:14

Lancôme do them, I was bought one for Christmas but I don't really rate it. Lasts about 30 seconds on me!

DarthMaiden · 12/09/2017 21:46

I lob the hourglass lip oil but unfortunately it is quite pricy and I'm not sure you can get it from boots.

I have the clarins one and agree - it's a bit too much like lip gloss imho.

ThierryEnnui · 13/09/2017 12:05

Girly, yes, I'd say it's fairly sticky on first application but kind of settles into more of an oily, moisturised feeling (kind of like a traditional balm) after a few minutes wear (and dependant of course on eating/drinking).

Hourglass Lip Oil's lovely but like Darth says, considerably pricier (£34). Has 0.5ml more product than Clarins. Clarins is £19 but you can get it nearer to £15 from a number of online retailers.

Space NK do Hourglass, as do John Lewis.

Gosh do lip oils and they are fab for £8.99
