Lashes

I wore some lashes for an event at the weekend (done by a professional make up artist) and absolutely loved them. I'm a bit clueless when it comes glamming up but would love to get some for next time I'm going out. Can any of you recommend any? I need something that a novice can apply! Thanks.

Ardell wisps are great. Or ardell individual lashes. Really anything with a thin strip.
Just make sure you cut them to fit, and bend them til they are pliable and not stiff. Wait for the glue to get really tacky, and hold them along the lash line til they are dry ..like really get it in there so it's not just riding on the actual lashes, but in the crease right where the base of your lashes meets your lid. Make sure you hold the corners down til they dry too, that's the spot that lifts the easiest.
Honestly, it's why I love individual lashes best..you can really pick and choose where you want to emphasize length, and add a few (trimmed) lashes to the outside corners of your bottom lash line too.

Thank you so much. That's a massive help.

Ardell individual lashes. Brilliant.

Do you apply with tweezers or fingers??

poppym12 · 14/09/2017 12:12

I use tweezers to apply the individual ones (they're not actually individual as in 1 lash, more clusters of 4 or 5 lashes). I watched a good video instruction, I think it was by Lisa eldridge. I put a blob of glue on the back of my hand, pick the lash cluster/flare up with tweezers at the end of the flarey bit, dip in glue then place on my eye. I usually do 2 on right eye, 2 on left then one on each until i think it looks ok. The first few times it seemed to take me ages but now it's minutes.

There's a good Lisa Eldridge tutorial on YouTube for applying individual lashes. I've used it and they looked great.

Thank you!

Ok, I've ordered some Ardell Wispies. Thanks for the collective wisdom. Just need to get baby to take a bottle now so I can actually go out!

When you apply, use tweezers to get them close to your eye, then use eyelash curlers to get them close to your natural lashes

Thanks for the tips. I've gone down a bit of a rabbit hole now and been googling... has anyone had this done before? It's £50 at my local salon... wondering if it's actually as good as it looks in the photos. nouveaulashes.com/treatment/lvl-lash-lift/

It is good but not £50 worth of good inmho!
It's £25 round here - same as individual lashes.

I'd look for someone doing volume lashes - they're amazing and around £50 here!
