Shaving moustache

dangleberries · 11/09/2017 17:26

I have a moustache and I've shaved it for what seems like ages but it's now becoming a daily job! Wish I'd never started! Help! What can I do that will make it last longer? Anyone else shave theirs too? Blush

Just stop and get it threaded.
You could use a Lumea on it, I do, but never shave. I don't even notice mine now. Started it because I was zipping chin hairs with it, and thought may as well.

dangleberries · 11/09/2017 17:45

Just googled a Lumea as hadn't ever heard of it! Look good but a bit more than I want to spend. Does hair have to be a certain length for threading?

Wax it off, it's less painful than threading trust me. The hair grows back finer and patchier. I only wax once a month now and it's very fine, patchy hair.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 17:48

Thread it!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 17:49

I've only had my eyebrows threaded and I'm impressed as to how short the hair was and even then she could get it. Planning on my upper lip tomorrow,I'll update when I've had it done.

dangleberries · 11/09/2017 17:50

Disordered does it need to be a certain length for waxing? I'm conscious of having to let it grow too long before having it done!

OP posts:
dangleberries · 11/09/2017 17:50

That would be great Dame, thanks

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 17:53

Yes it does need to be ascertained length for waxing and it's too long for me to feel comfortable with. I'm really hoping threading is the answer.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 17:53

** a certain length

DisorderedAllsorts · 11/09/2017 17:57

It's less than 5mm now so due for a wax. You can only notice if you stand practically nose to nose with me.

dangleberries · 11/09/2017 18:19

Good to know, thanks I'll check it out

I had mine waxed a couple of times but was left with red mark which I felt drew arrention to it as much as the hair. More recently I've just used veet cream suitable for facial use - I only need to do it every few weeks and it's quick (about 5 mins), pain free and you don't need to leave the house.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 22:32

I can't use any creams. I just use an ice pack after eye brow threading to take any redness away.

BubblesBuddy · 11/09/2017 22:41

Laser hair removal. Won't be cheap and needs a bit of maintenance but effective. Lumea maintains well. No cheap solution in my view.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 22:43

Bit worried about laser as I've read reviews of people being left with dark patches and that would be worse imo!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/09/2017 12:51

Right, I'm back!

Fucking hell,it HURT! She assured me the next time it won't so much, but my eyes watered. I am sitting here with an ice block on my chin! My upper lip is really smooth my chin area is still a bit rough but I think I will see what it's like next time. She said it was hard for her as she was threading shaved hair, hopefully it'll be easier next time. I'll update and let you know how long it lasts.

My friend who was with me said she had no idea I had such a hairy chin- thanks!HmmGrin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/09/2017 13:09

Actually thinking back the upper lip was co.pleteely bearable ,it was my chin that was so eye watering. So if that's you're only problem area then you'll be fine!

misscockerspaniel · 12/09/2017 13:32

Lumea won't work on fair hair.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/09/2017 13:39

Why not?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/09/2017 13:40

I've just googled, you can. That will be my next port of call.

dangleberries · 12/09/2017 19:24

Thanks for the update! Be good to know how long it lasts.

God it's a bloody mine field this hairy face malarkey!

I was recommended a Lumea on here and it's the BEST thing I've ever bought
I wish I'd got one sooner
It is expensive but has honestly changed my hairy life

joangray38 · 12/09/2017 22:56

I got my lumea on eBay - about 1/4 of the rrp so worth checking there as well

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 12/09/2017 22:59

I just use DH's electric shaver Blush

OlennasWimple · 13/09/2017 02:12

Try the epistick spring thingy - 99p on Amazon

Painful until you get the hang of it, but it basically works like an epilator and pulls out the hair by the roots so the regrowth is longer than shaving
