Isle Jacobson boots

Discovered Isle Jacobson on another S&B thread and have fallen in love with several pairs of their boots. Before I go nuts and buy some (I WANT THEM ALL!), can you tell what you think of them and whether you'd wear them.

I live in the country and spend a lot of time in the Peak District, and holiday in Snowdonia a few times a year so would have plenty of time to wear these items - but are they a style fail? I'd wear them to the pub/for lunch etc if out with the dog.

I have a pair of Ilse Jacobsen wellies and love them to bits - they're really comfortable, mould perfectly to fit and keep my feet properly toastie. I've had mine (white ones, with black laces all the way up) for about three years now and still going strong. They're made with sustainably sourced rubber, so a nice ethical buy too.

I wouldn't say they're a 'style statement' in the sense that they'd look good out for dinner, but for everyday walking in mud and rain they're perfect.

I have Ilse Jacobsen lace up boots too, bought two years ago and I love them. Great for walking the dog and have had regular use since they arrived. Lasted longer than any other boots I've boot.

I've bought!!

I loved mine but the soles weren't moulded and wore down so they became less good on rough ground after three years of wear. But they were warm, comfortable and definitely more stylish than most wellies on shoots and watching sport. They were often admired and the fact that you can lace them tighter or looser for calves is a definite plus.

Did you wear them quite regularly over the three years? I find the sole often wears on my boots where my toes bend after a winter of walking the dog, so three years would be an improvement.

The soles are (or were then, this was yonks ago) made from a crepe-y sort of material that is softer than some boots, and there was not much tread on them, so they slipped on slick pavements but were fine on paths and grass. After them, I had Le Chameau rubber boots which eventually perished around the ankles but the tread was immaculate to the day they went in the bin. The Ilse Jacobson uppers remained perfect to the end. And yes, I live in the West Country and have dogs so they were worn most days that it rained in winter, e.e most days!.
