Best make up to cover spots?

I've tried lots. Elizabeth Arden which made my skin dry, cheaper brands which don't last and Estée Lauder double wear which I wasn't massively impressed with.

Any suggestions? I suffer with acne which can sometimes flare up and can be quite red and angry and want to cover it as much as I am without looking like I've piled the make up on. I'd love a dewy glow but my face is naturally very oil so I do struggle. Help!

Bumping as I'd love some recommendations too.

I love bourjois healthy mix foundation as it's light, then use an opaque creamy concealer like collection's £4.19 to blend over individual spots. But I just get the odd spot, I don't have acne so not sure what to suggest if that's the case. Massively recommend the concealer though.

You could go to a few department store counters and ask for them to do your skin (not eyes or lips or anything) And write down the products they use, then spend the rest of the day in the makeup to see how it looks in daylight and check it wears well and doesn't oxidise.

Revlon Colourstay foundation, applied with Real Techniques Expert Face Brush + Benefit Boi-ing concealer underneath, applied with fingers. You will need a decent moisturiser underneath. Put as much as you need on your problem areas and a minimal amount on the good skin between them - that way, you should be able to achieve a reasonably natural look with good coverage.

For the underlying problem, go to the GP if you haven't already done so. Also make sure you're removing the make-up thoroughly - I double-cleanse with La Roche Posay micellar gel followed by La Roche Posay cream cleanser and my skin is much better for it than ever previously.

Also - the Revlon Colourstay foundation comes in two formulae. You will probably want the one for oily/combo skin based on what you have said. It lasts well, has great coverage, and you can still achieve a dewy look with it as long as you moisturise well beforehand, apply lightly on "good" areas of skin and don't use too much powder.

Hope the above helps :-).

I find that less is more to cover crappy skin - and unfortunately I have years of experience.

Use a tiny amount of green corrector on a beauty blender type sponge to go over just the spots. Then apply a lightweight foundation or bb cream (I love the La Roche Posay one) all over with a flat kabuki, sort of lightly pressing it on rather than rubbing. Then, as a PP said, conceal the individual spots with Collection concealer on a soft brush. Again, dab lightly so as not to rub off the other layers.

For years I've been plastering my face with heavy coverage base, but it actually looks so much better done in several very light layers.
