Removing doublewear?

If you wear Double Wear or DWL what do you use to remove it? At the moment I'm using micellar water but to be honest, whatever I've tried so far I seem to need gallons of cleanser to get it all off. Is there a magic cleanser or method of removal I don't know about? Cannot knock DWLs lasting power but getting all off again is a major job.

Also don't you makeup wipes - they're terrible for your skin! Everyone should cleanse at least once, tone and moisturise. Exfoliate twice a week!
Avoid anything with alcohol listed as an ingredient.

I'm a Decleor skin expert and loooove skincare & makeup. Always have a full coverage face on so I know it takes time to get it off!

Face wipe then micellar water on cotton pad

Wipes/cotton wool etc are rubbish for removal. All your doing is wiping stuff around your face - you need to wash/rinse! And although I'm not a qualified therapist o would go against exfoliating with anything scrubby/grainy. If you use a flannel/muslin with every cleanse and some kind of acid toner, there is no need.

I've also been using TBS camomile cleanser. It's fab.

LetZygonsbeZygones · 09/09/2017 23:22

Is the TBS camomile ok for sensitive skin do you think?

It should be fine Letz - it's got shea butter in it so not great if you're prone to break outs but otherwise, no problem.

My fave method is olive oil and wipes. I tend to use simple wipes and wet them even more with tap water, then I use olive oil even the cheap stuff from home bargains etc. It is amazing and the wipes help it all come off. Then I rinse my face and then cleanse. Using the olive oil with cheaper fragrance free wipes or even a flannel works too. Don't use baby oil or fragranced oils.

Olive oil? I know I am being super dim here but do you mean you put the oil on your face and then remove it with the wipes?

Does it come off fully, or are you left with oil on the skin overnight?

SerfTerf · 10/09/2017 00:07

Eve Lom or Ponds Cold Cream. Then something else, such as the micellar water.

Glamourface · 10/09/2017 00:21

@adorabell yes, sometimes I buy the olive oil u get in home bargains or pharmacy near the vaseline etc you get it in smallish bottles. It's meant for ear cleaning.

Anyway, I use that only a small amount with cloth or wipes and it comes clean off. Then rinse face then do your cleanser/toner and theres barely anything on the pads

Glamourface · 10/09/2017 00:22

The purpose of the oil is that it breaks down the doublewear and thick makeup. Great for mascara too.

Princey675 · 10/09/2017 00:32

Double cleanse, toner then moisturiser. Always use toner after cleanser as this will close the pores the cleanser has opened. Then moisturise as toner can be drying without.

I bought these bamboo flannels for cleansing, and they are lovely. Incredibly soft and much nicer than the ones that come with hot cloth cleansers.

AdoraBell · 11/09/2017 00:08

Cheers for that Glamour I think I'll give that a go.

Just bought TBS camomile cleansing butter . One of the staff rubber a ton of eye liner on my hand and showed me how to use the butter to remove it. I have high hopes of not having to spend ages trying to get every last trace of DWL off with this. Thanks for all your help. If this doesn't prove to be the holy grail, I have plenty more of your recommendations to work through :)
