Eyebrow virgin

Please help!

I need to do something with my eyebrows. Growing up they were always really thick and dark. I was bullied about them so took to unskillfully plucking them and have continued ever since. They are now uneven I.e. one side is thicker than the other and don't look very well put together. I am hairy and they grow so quickly that I pluck several days a week. They are still quite thick, though not like before but just very uneven and amateur.

I've decided I need to take the plunge and go to a professional but I'm really nervous and have no idea what to ask for? I don't want them overly thin. Also what state do i go in with them like? Do I not pluck for a few wwwks so they are unruly?

I feel really anxious about it and would just like some advice please

No advice here, but I'm the opposite. Fine eyebrows, getting more sparse. I pluck randomly, but have never been to a brow professional. I'd like to go but I'm scared too!

I vote for threading. I get it done at a stall in our local shopping centre, nothing fancy.

I would go in when they are quite long and messy so they have more to work with

Snap8TheCat · 08/09/2017 21:55

Also watching! Different again : I've never touched mine. I'd like to look more put together. I'm dark with fairly unruly eyebrows.

Snap8TheCat · 09/09/2017 15:54

For me it's not so much what method, but knowing what I want done with them. As in what shape or whatever to I ask for? Do I mention ask the booking call that they've never been touched?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/09/2017 15:58

I had mine threaded in a Superdrug last week, the woman did an amazing job and was only a fiver. Better than the waxing I using get done for double the price. I just said I wanted a tidy up and she worked her magic.

Snap8TheCat · 09/09/2017 15:59

But if you've never had it done before what would you ask for?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/09/2017 16:00

Just ask for a tidy up,I'd never been threaded before.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/09/2017 16:00

They know exactly what they're doing,I just sat in the chair and they got on with it!

PaperdollCartoon · 09/09/2017 16:02

Definitely threading. They don't ask what shape or anything, they just seem to instinctively know what's right!

Snap8TheCat · 09/09/2017 16:03

Ok sounds good! Glad they know what they're doing because I don't Blush

Redcrayons · 09/09/2017 16:06

I get mine threaded in Superdrug too (thought it's £6 here). I just plonk myself down in the chair and she gets on with it.

EraArils · 09/09/2017 16:19

I've always done my own eyebrows using tweezers and a japonesque razor. Can i ask how long the threading results last.

PurpleDaisies · 09/09/2017 16:20

Threading is definitely quick and easy in that you can just walk in and have it done. I usually get mine done in Debenhams. I prefer waxing as it's less painful.

Op just tell them you want a natural shape.

itsbetterthanabox · 09/09/2017 16:46

Leave them to grow out at least 2 weeks no plucking. Use concealer to cover the regrowth if you can't stand the growing period.
Get them waxed or threaded. Either is good they both pull from the root. Say you want them tidied and evened up but kept full.

PaperdollCartoon · 09/09/2017 18:05

I get my threading done every 2-3 weeks. I've been to a few places but now usually go to Superdrug, it's the cheapest place where I live.

Redcrayons · 09/09/2017 22:33

I get mine done about once a month. It's a bit painful but it's pretty quick and they look a million times better than anything I could do myself.

Twelvety · 09/09/2017 22:48

If you want to keep them thick but tidied up, always tell them you want to keep the thickness. I have had some be a bit overzealous.

Twelvety · 09/09/2017 22:48

Talking about threading there ^

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 10/09/2017 00:55

How long does chin hair have to be before threading? Not sure I can bear to leave it for more than a couple of days!

Troubleshootingforever · 10/09/2017 01:29

I love eyebrows. Mine are my actual pride and joy! I overplucked years ago and now never touch them with tweezers. Ever.
I get mine waxed and tinted about every 3 weeks.
There are lots of different shapes and styles of eyebrows so do a bit of online research to see what you would like. If like me at the beginning you've uneveness or still too thin brows , a bit of tint can make the world of difference.
I prefer getting my eyebrows done than my hair Grin. Love eyebrows lol

Troubleshootingforever · 10/09/2017 01:30

By the way.... threading is agony. Pure agony. Waxing is no bother

mammmamia · 10/09/2017 04:12

Threading definitely.
As PP said tell them you want a tidy up and that you don't want them too thin. They will get on with it.
It hurts a bit but it's so fast. That does depend on the person doing it though. I would try a local indian salon if you can find one near you.
