Does anyone use E Arden Advanced Ceramide Capsules?

You know, those little golden capsules?

I was inspired by a thread on here and bought some.

Basically I forgot my moisturiser for a two week holiday of sun, wind and rain, and I came back with skin like Captain Birdseye (think ruddy, with a bit of a beard as I didn't take my Lumea with me either.)

Anyway, I took drastic action and invested in the little gold capsule thingies (the Daily Youth Restoring Serum ones).

I think I like them; they feel silky on the skin. It's hard to tell if they are making mush difference as my face has been rather weather beaten this summer.

My question is, do you use them in the morning? If I put one on my face it takes ages to sink in. So much so that I have to wait about 40 minutes before I can put on my moisturiser.

Did they come with instructions? Sounds like night time use might be better.

Also, you forgot your moisturiser and just went without?! Were there no shops?

I use them, but only from r special occasions when I know I am going to be photographed. They give my skin a lovely look when made up.

I use moisturiser first and allow it to sink in. When you first apply the ceramide it feels like you're putting an oil onto your skin, but this disappears within a few seconds and I'm then ready to proceed with foundation. Waiting 40 minutes is it on!

I'm pretty sure it says morning and night. It's a good point. I'll check online. I thought I would ask here first as I reckon the manufacturers might be trying to get us to use more than we need.

I used some l'Occitaine body moisturiser on my face on holiday; I reckoned why not? It'll be fine. It wasn't.

We were either on a boat or on the moors on holiday so not too many shops really.
Stiill I don't know why I didn't pick something up at the big Asda we went to half way through. I reckon I thought I was on holiday so unshackled
From skin care. What an idiot.Smile

Just to add, I wouldn't dream of using it for skincare! Far too expensive and there are better alternatives out there.

What would you recommend. I had pretty good skin for someone in their early 40s but it has just started to go downhill fast.

How about a few sheet masks? Maybe one a day for a week just to get some hydration back and soothe your skin.

What do you do at the moment for every day skin care?

I've been using a Lidl Q10 moisturiser around my eyes day and night - pretty certain it was on 1/2 offer for 99p.

I was using No7 Protect and Perfect for a while and then decided it was too pricey - even on 3 for 2 - for the incremental benefit over other moisturisers, so swapped to Boots Time Delay serum. It's usually £5 for 50ml but when I stocked up again yesterday was nicely surprised at the till to find it was on promotion, so just £3.75 atm.

I use a couple of good squirts mixed in with another squirt of No 7 foundation and it last me all day. I have oily skin and it does still look greasy at the end of the day if I don't blot it. Oh the joys of adult acne...on the plus side I have been told that I look in my 20s, or 30s but am mid-forties. Am going to try the "non-greasy" oil in the same range now.
