What style of boots should I buy for A/W?

I need a new pair of boots, to wear with dresses and skirts for work over autumn and winter.

Although my long boots (good quality brown leather, low heel, below the knee) are warm and comfortable, I think they are quite dated?

Are Chelsea boots still okay? I need a slight heel as have 6-7 feet and complete flats make me feel like I'm wearing clown shoes!

Not too worried about budget as if I have some ideas about the style, am happy to source to my purse limits!

Anyone? Or am I destined to shuffle my way to Christmas in flip flops...

I love my Chelsea boots

I don't wear long boots any more, it's ankle boots all the way for me

I live in

  • dune Chelsea boots
  • acne pistols for a heel (£££ but the only heels I can wear comfortably)
  • new pair this year which I'm completely loving are some pointy zip up ankle boots from &otherstories - they may be too flat for you, but they've got some great stuff in for autumn. Incredibly comfortable - wore them for the first time this week and didn't need breaking in at all

I like Hudson ankle boots and own two different styles of tan ankle boots from there.

Mint Velvet always does a few lovely pairs of ankle boots each winter and they tend to wear very well; mine are a few winters in and still look fab.

Another Chelsea boot fan here - low-heeled black pair from Dune, and higher heeled chocolate brown ones from Dream in Green.

Also have a highish pair of black Maguba clog boots.

Last year I bought some lace up boots from M&S , DD bought some chelsea boots (Lexi) from Office but the heel is too high for me .
I'm planning to look for some flat/very low heel for myself.

I don't like anything long , makes my legs tired and driving knackers the heels .
