Please help me find a pair of shoes

I'm desperate for work shoes but have a horrible long list of criteria so any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I'm currently waiting for spinal surgery and can't sit down so the main requirement is they need to be really really comfortable as I'm on my feet for about 9 hours non stop.

Most of my work stuff is navy, so brown shoes? I've been wearing brown loafers all summer but the soles are going.

  • Not ballet flats, I need a proper shoe for support
  • The nerves in my feet have gone haywire and I have weirdly high arches. Currently can't bear anything touching the top of my foot so have been unable to find any comfy boots or even a full shoe.
  • They do need to be quite smart, I wear a dress and jacket usually but sometimes trousers or a pencil skirt.
  • Under £60
  • If possible something that will survive a Cumbrian winter

Please help my poor feet! Smile

I can't think of anything other than more loafers or brogues to be honest!

What about these? A bit over budget but you get 10% off if you sign up for emails.

Or do you need a slight heel?

PNGirl · 06/09/2017 12:10

Sorry, you may have to copy and paste the link. They're called Office
Flexi Elastic Flat Shoes.

Thanks both, PN I think they will come up too high unfortunately. Ah yes I will look again at M&S, I know really I should get a certain type of shoe and not bother but I'm 30 and I work in senior management and I just want to look nice at work! It would be a very reluctant choice if I had to get some Hotter shoes or something similar. Just fussy really Smile

Are these really horrible or are they ok. I can quite decide if I like them or not but I imagine they are comfy. --My
Mum forced me to look at Hotter-- Grin

I think they're ok given your criteria but I don't like the colour - do they cone in Navy?

GoingRogue · 06/09/2017 21:23

I wouldn't get hotter shoes age 30, but maybe I'm being snobby/ageist.

What about these from Clarks?

www.clarks.co.uk/c/Cressida-May/p/26126702

Do you want to be able to wear socks with them? Or are you ok with tights/pop socks?

daisygirlmac · 06/09/2017 21:30

They do come in navy but it's a weird navy. Rogue I am also being snobby and possibly ageist as I don't think I can bring myself to do it Grin

Are those Clarks ones suede? They'd be wrecked within days unfortunately

Tights and pop socks are fine by the way

I've got spinal problems too. Waiting on more surgery. Other problems as well also same problems with shoes, have you tried FITFLOPS they do lots of styles and are perfect if you have problems. Sorry don't know how to put link so just type in fitflops and it will come up

Footle · 07/09/2017 07:10

If you're in Cumbria go to Happy Feet in Kendal when the owner is there.

Sunshineandgin · 07/09/2017 07:22

I ended up having to have some hotter shoes for uniform when I was 18/19 totally get that they're a bit "old lady" but seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn - also on my feet 9 hours plus every day.

daisygirlmac · 07/09/2017 08:01

Footle I'm actually not far from Kendal so I will. Fitflops aren't really smart enough but thank you. There is also a Hotter shop in Kendal so I might brace myself and go for a look!

As for Hotter, beggars can't be choosers ...Good luck!

daisygirlmac · 21/09/2017 07:24

Me again! Reporting back for further assistance please as I'm now at my wits end and much too familiar with the post office. I have tried:
Hotter - too hard and come up too high
Skechers fitflops sneakerloafer- comfy but no support and made my ankles roll in
Tried 3 pairs of random ones in Happy Feet in Kendal - all rubbish
Dune Geneveve - perhaps ok but would have to get bigger size, disappointed with thickness of sole and not very comfy
Suave Beth - too hard
Hush Puppies Janessa - too hard and too shallow
M&S footglove loafers - too hard
Tried on lots of things in Clarks but nothing was right

I'm beginning to feel like bloody Goldilocks except nothing is right at all. Send help!

Have you tried footglove from Marks and Spencer's . I got dome kitten heels there and live in them .
Loafers I find to be very hard in the foot.

Any big department stores near . What about Gabor ?

daisygirlmac · 21/09/2017 12:44

I have yes thanks riviera I can't wear any heel at all unfortunately
