Blonde, mid length curly hair

I am so fed up with my hair. I am 41 and my hair has been varying lengths of exactly the same all my life. It doesn't work for me anymore. The curl, as I age, is turning to frizz and I look like an 80s kylie but frizzy. None of my favourite products work.

What can I do? I need a sleeker, more manageable style for work (professional role) and live in a rainy part of the UK (frizz city)

Help!

Is your hair coloured at all?

DO you use any products in your hair?

Temporaryanonymity · 04/09/2017 10:15

Yes, lots of products have been tried as.frizzease doesnt work for me. I colour my hair myself, I suspect this is the cause. The blonde though is my true colour, it is the roots that need the work!

It will be the dye that's not helping...are you going grey?

Temporaryanonymity · 04/09/2017 11:31

Yes, please tell me I don't have to give into it?

Lots of us have this trouble...grey hair is much coarser than hair with pigment.

One way to improve it is to use a semi permanent colour instead of permanent.

That will involve phasing out your permanent colour usage though and probably an awkward stage.

Might be best to get it cut shorter than usual, stop using your usual colour and begin using a semi permanent dye.

Look for conditioning products formulated for grey hair.

Consider getting a shorter sharper cut...a bob for instance that you can maintain more easily.

If you were feeling flush you coul book a cut at Spring, the curly hairdresser-it's in birmingham though so you'd also need to travel.

Have you tried all the curly girl methods?
