Title says it all!

OP posts:
LunaTheCat · 02/09/2017 23:15

I love clothes and like lots things. I like unexpected combinations - trainers with dresses. Jeans and a great pair shoes.
I always wear a scarf- it makes me feel very French. I also have wonderful pair sunglasses that I paid too much for!
I don't to synthetics - they make me sweat.
I pay a lot for clothes but buy less so I try to achieve good cost per wear. I am a great sales buyer and stalk my favourite shops.
The latest thing I bought was a shirt made yellow liberty cotton with red flecks in it- I bit princess Diana style minus the ruffles. I love it!
I love cos but they don't have a shop. In the country where I live - so sad😢

Floisme · 02/09/2017 23:49

I've been mostly buying second hand this year. Have a very good dress agency which I supplement with vintage shops, charity shops and weigh n pay sales. I don't like EBay but I'm eyeing up Vestiaire.

For buying new: H&M (but going off them) Toast, Cos (I'd buy more if they opened a local branch) some Uniqlo but especially the collaborations, some M&S. If I could afford designer it would be Vivienne Westwood and Margaret Howell.

I admire people with a signature style but never achieved it myself. Katharine Hepburn is probably my style crush of the moment and current favourite outfit is ankle length wide legs, silk shirt (to be replaced by the perfect slouchy, deep V neck jumper come autumn and brogues. I'm finding men's clothes more interesting than women's these days.

AnnabelleLecter · 03/09/2017 09:17

Rock chick.
I shop all over but favourites are
Topshop
G-star raw
All saints
Warehouse
H and M
Superdry (for lounging gear and I sleep in their shorts)
New look for skinny jeans and jeggings.
Plus boutiques and the odd charity shop rummage.

I like plain dark t-shirts with black, metallic or biker style jeans or mini skirts.
I have blue, black and khaki denim shirts.
I have a few biker ankle boots flat and heeled and knee length boots, otherwise wear converse.
In Summer I wear mainly shorts, t's and flipflops.
Biker jackets, denim jacket and a big puffa coat for winter.
Ray ban aviator sunglasses.

WhooooAmI24601 · 03/09/2017 09:51

Preppy. I've lived in navy skinnies, white converse or loafers, blue or white shirts, a tan or sparkle tweed Mulberry Tillie and leopard-print Wayfarers all summer. The length/style can vary but generally that's my uniform.

H&M jeans are my new favourites, their shaping ones are incredible. Hilfiger shirts and Ralph Lauren jumpers/knits are lovely and Zara does fab white and light blue blouses.

I'm back to work (school) tomorrow and my clothes are similar; navy and beige skinny trousers (Gap bi-stretch) and blue and white shirts and blouses.

WipsGlitter · 03/09/2017 10:03

Mixed! I've put on weight so shops are depressing. I'm 40s.

I like Boden as I can try it on at home. Yesterday I wore boden jeans and a top with Stan smiths.

Today I'll wear same jeans with a boden Breton.

Work I've two pairs of boden trousers and various tops. I've a lot of dresses for work too.

I like Mint Velvet as well. Plus monsoon and Oliver Bonas.

bananafish81 · 03/09/2017 10:05

Uniqlo. Almost everything I own is Uniqlo

I go for minimalist scandi style capsule wardrobe

Lots of similar stuff in different colours (almost everything I own is black, grey, navy, white or stripey) and everything is mix and match.

Skinny trousers and jeans, shirts, breton tops, Merino wool and cashmere sweaters and cardigans, plus stan Smith trainers / ankle boots / brogues

StarkintheSouth · 03/09/2017 14:48

Kind of smart casual with the odd quirky touch. i love oasis, Hush, Levi's jeans and the odd piece from whistles, M&S, jigsaw. I buy shoes from Office mainly as they have a wide range of stuff. I like to accessorise with a decent bag like Michael Kors etc.

MumBod · 03/09/2017 17:07

My style is very casual in the daytime - harems, jeans, t-shirts, oversized jumpers, skinnies, Bretons, Chucks, Stan Smiths. I usually get these from Hush and Boden.

Evening I either do the rock chick thing in coated black skinnies and biker boots with a band t-shirt and a blazer, or I'll go a bit hippie and wear a midi-dress with heels or skinnies with a peasant blouse. I've got these from Hush (again) and Rixo, and peasant tops from Noa Noa and Ilse Jacobson.

mrsnec · 03/09/2017 17:18

Late 30's sahm. Style when I feel like it. I am a creature of habit and shop at Peacocks, M&S, and Mango for basics but I like House of Fraser, Asos and Desigual when I want something different.

DameDoom · 03/09/2017 17:20

Pared back to the point of total boredom. I wear Baukjen and Me and Em jersey dresses for work - so easy to chuck in washer.
Out of work, I try and fail to be quite Scandi. I am surgically attached to crew neck slim fit cashmere jumpers for daytime with the odd foray into a deep V-neck which work well for my flat chest. Navy, black, grey - on repeat.
I do wear leather leggings and hope to be more Emmanuel Alt than Jane McDonald but no doubt fail. Lots of jeans, brogues and trainers.
I also love pea and cocoon coats - not averse to wearing my All Saints biker.
I used to love scarves and have a lot of Lily and Lionel but now they look a bit shit despite being beautiful - the scarves, not me!

BlueEyedWonder · 03/09/2017 18:31

I'm 40s.
I like a preppy look with the odd quirky item.

Mon - Fri I work in a prison (I'm non uniform in my role but still need to dress appropriately for the environment): cigarette trousers, fitted shirts, skinny fit merino / cashmere jumpers or tanks, brogues, tweed blazer in winter

Weekends, I wear skinny jeans, converse, stripe tops, stripe shirts, cashmere jumpers, tan ankle boots, t-shirts, camo jacket, collarless camel coat in winter

Going out, I wear jeans with a pretty blouse, floral midi dresses, pleather skirt, tights and polo neck in winter, animal print heels, high heel ankle boots, faux fur jacket in winter.

I shop high street: M&S, H&M, Next, Gap, Boden, Clarks, Uniqlo, Topshop

MumBod · 03/09/2017 19:36

Yes, it's sad that scarves look a bit shit now.

I used to love a scarf. How does that happen? It's almost imperceptible. Great one day, the next, meh.

Petalflowers · 03/09/2017 19:56

My DS and I went to a local, small, festival in the SE in Spring. She lives in Wales. She was amazed how few scarves we saw. After a while, we played a 'Spot the scarf' game.

motmot · 03/09/2017 22:51

Trying to get a sense of style back... I aim for practical, utilitarian: dungarees, pinafore dresses, jeans. With blouses and jewellery to soften it. Basically the toast catalogue but on a much much lower budget! EBay is my friend...

cactusbutt · 04/09/2017 04:27

I'm kind of Scandi minimalist with quirky touches. Lots of high waisted trousers, drapey tops, rolled ankle boyfriend jeans, interesting trainers. I'm doing the capsule wardrobe thing at the moment, it's been great for helping me define my style.

I wear COS, Acne, by Malene Birger, Uniqlo, &other Stories, local labels Gorman and Country Road (I'm in Melbourne) as well as the occasion scour of vintage and charity shops.

LoadsaBlusher · 04/09/2017 07:05

I love trends and try my best to keep up with what's in.

I buy new from
ASOS - skinny jeans / basics
River Island - tops / accessories
H & M - tops / accessories

I mix and match this with items from car boot sales / EBay and charity shops
I really try to stick to 3 colours only daily though , that makes me feel more put together
So black skinnies , white t , khaki jacket and black pointed flats etc with a choker etc

ChocolatePHD · 04/09/2017 08:36

I don't think I have a 'style' but usually you'll find me in a Joules Breton, dark slim leg jeans and converse in some metallic shade. I just wear what makes me happy, I'm so over fashion! Also I have a long term illness so dress for comfort.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 04/09/2017 11:16

Please don't tell me scarves are out! Sad

I love scarves (and hate getting sore throats).

Is it not a bit like saying coats or gloves are out?

PNGirl · 04/09/2017 11:42

People are always telling me I have my own style. It's part 90s grunge, part student, part classic Ralph Lauren/Abercrombie/Hilfiger. I shop at ASOS (own brand, Weekday, Noisy May), Levis, GAP, Uniqlo, and own some supermarket stuff. My shoes are usually Dr Martens or Ted&Muffy/Duo. My last clothing purchase was a Finisterre hoodie and before that it was a Ralph Lauren trench-style navy coat.

Today I'm wearing Gap skinnies, lace-up tan ankle boots, a Gap navy star-print t-shirt and a black ASOS denim shirt with rolled sleeves. Sums me up really.

ChocolatePHD · 04/09/2017 12:23

Who decided that scarves are 'out'?! Who cares, wear what you like.

Babywearinggeek · 04/09/2017 12:50

20 something SAHM to 2 under 2.. I'm not quite sure what my 'style' is. Preppy art teacher perhaps?! But lots of stripes and colour. Mostly boden and joules at the moment.. breastfeeding is currently inhibiting my love of dresses sigh I've been told I do layering very well.. although I wasn't aware there was an art to it haha!

Kr1stina · 04/09/2017 12:54

Mainly Cos and Uniqlo, occasional Hush , Zara,

Style - Scandinavian

I am very strict and only buy things that are my colours and style.

RebeccaWithTheGoodHair · 04/09/2017 14:15

Bohemian/arty - I tend to wear thinnish but loose tops (generally hanging off one shoulder) with harem type pants. Bright bra to show through. Clogs or roman sandals to go with it. Leather biker or tweed with elbow patches jackets.

Shops I like are Mango, Toast and my new fave: The Outnet.

Bubba1234 · 04/09/2017 15:47

Work: 80's style workwear ( blazers & trainers)

Night time : fitted trousers crop top big jewellery

Casual : teeny bopper style
Jeans bright leather jackets track suits white trainers timberlands lots of American apparel

Openup41 · 04/09/2017 17:48

I have several styles and also have my own signature look.

Preppy - fitted trousers, tucked in shirt, loafers
Mumsy - wide legged trousers with fitted v neck top
Office look - pencil skirt, silk shirt and belt

I would love to experiment with 50's style clothes but do not have the confidence to wear anything that will draw attention to me.
