How do I become someone who doesn't need to wash my hair everyday?

I'd love not to have to do this but I really really can't see a way out.....

I have thick hair which has an annoying wave. Currently in a sort of layered bob with fringe (probably mumsy according to the bob thread).

Every morning I wash, blow dry and sometimes run straighteners through if I cba. Sometimes I scrunch and it goes curly. I did do curly girl for a bit but then gave up.

If I leave it for 2 days between washes then it looks like an oil slick and I have to shampoo it twice to cut through the grease.

Not sure what to do? Dry shampoo? Brazilian blow dry?? I'm back at work this week and would love to save time in the morning but also look groomed. Is this possible?

I will try to attach a pic

Klorane dry shampoo is so much better than Batiste or Colab. No overpowering smell or residue.

I much prefer herbal essences naked dry shampoo to batiste.

I think dry shampoo is your best bet. Like I said night before is best - chuck it around your hairline and on your crown and go to bed. If you do it in the morning use it in the same places then get a dry flannel and use it to remove the excess. You wipe from the root outward. It sort of polishes the hair too. This is much better than brushing it all out which will stimulate oil production.

If you need to straighten your hair do it before the dry shampoo/talc as styling it after using the powder will make it crazy static!

Agree with pp that fiddling with your hair will make it greasy.

I've stopped kidding myself that I can have great hair on day two.

I just wash it daily.

C'est la vie.

I found growing my fringe out means I don't have to worry so much on day two. Though for work I still prefer to wash it every day.

Wash the other way round so condition first and then shampoo like in the curly hair method.

Put your hair up off your face on the first day if you can so it doesn't collect so much dirt.

I only wash my hair every 4/5 days. I have longish curly hair and either use tongs to give it a lift or put it in two French plaits . I don't work so I guess I don't have to look professional but frankly I can't be arsed to wash and dry it more often . It takes hours to dry naturally and doesn't like being diffused !

Watching with interest. I have very fine, dead straight hair which looks greasy the day after I've washed it. Have tried dry shampoo, no conditioner, various shampoos, only conditioner, but nothing has helped so far. I usually tie it back anyway, but that doesn't in any way hide its lankness!

I only have my hair washed once every 2 weeks or so Blush. I have a wash and blow dry at the hairdressers. Then Batiste the shit out of it until I go again. I get the straighteners on it if needs be. I too have curly thick hair - similar haircut to you PP but a bit longer.

How long does it last if you get it done at hairdresser? I have same style as you but doesnt get greasy. But if l get a blow dry in salon l get a good few days out of it and it holds well.
