Cheap, facial SPF for oily skin

Hi. I have a tendency to oily skin with open pores on my nose and I am currently using Ultrasun face SPF 30 under my make up every day. I love this and it goes on so well under make up but I'm trying to cut down on the amount of money I spend on beauty products. Blush I'm also allergic I think to mineral sunscreens-they make my eyes water like buggery so need to use a physical sunscreen. Can anyone recommend a physical sunscreen for oily skin that costs around £10? Thanks

Not £10 but avenes new anti ageing spf 50 is really good and its dry touch, I think it's £19 but boots often have offers

Biore KAO JAPAN AQUA RICH Sarasara SPF5 all day long.

Theconifers25 · 31/08/2017 22:06

That's SPF50 not 5

Wellhellothere1 · 31/08/2017 22:27

mint thanks I'll keep that one in mind but my Ultrasun one costs £20 and was looking to find a much cheaper one.
theconifers I used that one for ages and really liked it but I find by the end of the day my eyes feel really crepey and tight and think it might be the alcohol content of the Biore. Other than that it's a fab sunscreen and so cheap!!! I may go back to it if I don't find anything else. Mind you I recently read a review of Japanese sunscreens and Biore was recommended for indoor use only which worried me a bit!

Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish. Spf 50. Korean brand. I order from overseas via ebay. Dries down matt in a couple of minutes.
You might also be able to purchase samples to try.

Only recommended for indoor use?! Dammit I love that Bioré! I've certainly never gone red/burnt whilst using it, bit I guess that's not the only barometer of its effectiveness. I like the SPF30 Gentle Care Milk or whatever it's called too - doesn't feel as alcoholic to me.

Cetaphil. Factor 50, non comodogenic, smells lovely, like holiday!

mintbiscuit · 01/09/2017 20:00

Sunscreens are not indoor vs outdoor. Sunscreens are measured on their spf under same conditions in a lab. So all spf 50 sunscreens will have the same protection providing the right amount is applied and distributed evenly on exposed skin.

Sunscreen can be removed throughout the day by sweat, oil, friction (rubbing face, sand etc.). Assuming the sunscreen is reapplied then you have protection equivalent to the spf rating.

On this basis I prefer using a thicker zinc/titanuim sunscreen when outdoors for long periods of activity (when I am likely to sweat etc). And I prefer lighter 'chemical' based sunscreens for everyday activites such as going to work, shopping etc.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll check them out. This was the comparison chart I mentioned which states most Japanese sunscreens are not for outdoor use.

I'm presuming I'll be pretty safe in Scotland though!! Plus I've never had any redness at all with Biore, even in holiday in hot countries.

La Roche posay do two for oily skins, the one in a pump is really good & is £16 in boots or £12 on offer/on Internet sites.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios Anti Shine Matte Fluid SPF 30 50ml

d270r0 · 02/09/2017 21:48

Do you definitely want a standalone sunscreen? Simple does a face moisturiser thats spf 30 and only £6.99 for 50ml, online at boots.

I have this Neutrogena one. I bought this and the moisturiser in the US, following recommendations on here.

WhatKindOfFuckeryTisThis · 02/09/2017 22:52

La Roche-Posay is good and was recommended to me by dermatologist. If you do get it make sure you shake the bottle first before applying - I read the small print afterwards
