College clothes

Oldest dd, just turned 16, is going to be doing an equine course at college. Some days will be practical, not necessarily riding but taking care of horses, and she already has jodhpurs, riding boots etc, while other days will be classroom-based. Some days might be a mixture of the two. She also has an hour long journey by coach each way, so will be hanging around at bus stops.
She has some stuff already, of course, but will need a fair bit more.
Anyone have any thoughts on clothes which will be practical and stylish?
I've thought of leggings and jeans with short-sleeved t-shirts for when they start back in September, with a light fleece to wear over the top maybe. Then when it starts getting colder long sleeve t-shirts, checked shirts, and sweatshirts.
I've bought her a couple of Regatta jackets which were in the sale today so she's ok for those.
Shoes-wise, she will probably wear trainers at least until winter.
Best places to shop? Dorothy Perkins, H&M, River Island, Top Shop? With maybe a bit of Primark?
She has a few issues so wouldn't really be able to go shopping herself or with friends.

I teach students a bit older than your daughter - anything goes. The girls I teach tend to wear a lot of skinny jeans with trainers, blouses, t-shirts or jumpers/hoody depending on the time of year, in autumn/winter there are lot of short skirts with opaque tights and jumpers, trainers or boots, also pinafore dresses. (To be honest, I dress quite similarly to them, a notch up in terms of smartness, but I teach a creative subject so don't need to worry about being too business-like.) Popular shops with my lot are New Look, H&M, Topshop (although considered expensive), and Primark, plus online shops like Boohoo, ASOS, Pretty Little Things and Missguided. Dorothy Perkins, Oasis and Warehouse are considered "wifie shops". Something I always find interesting is that a lot of them don't care about being cold and will wear ankle grazer jeans with trainers and bare ankles even if there's snow on the ground - quite a few of mine travel from home on public transport so they must be frozen!

Sorry, me again. Could you pick out a load of stuff on ASOS together, do a big trying on session at home, then send back what's no use? Free delivery and returns, loads of brands.

Thanks, Judy, that's really helpful.
It's an agricultural college so on our various visits I haven't seen many girls there in skirts or dresses.
She does like ankle grazer jeans. I don't think teenagers feel the cold!
Interesting about Dorothy Perkins now appealing to a slightly older crowd, if that's what you mean by wifie shop! I forgot about New Look so that's another good one, and will have a look online too.
