Could you suggest me a serum?

Hi,

I have very sensitive skin with rosacea which is largely under control with Soolantra and a very simple skincare regime (Cetaphil cleanser and moisturising lotion).

I have to use a factor 50 sunscreen every day as I live in a hot country.

I am extremely nervous about adding anything in as I react badly to so many things that are supposed to be suitable. However, I did just add in Cerave night time lotion which has niacinmide and hyalauronic acid in it and it seems to have made a big difference to how hydrated my skin is and so I am keen to see if I can make any more improvements, especially as I am beginning to see crow´s feet etc (I am 44).

Although I mentioned my age I am loathe to use anything that will make my skin more sensitive to the sun like the retinol products.

Can anyone suggest a serum that might work?

I did not get on with La Roche Posay or Vichy Aqualia at all, btw. They both broke me out in spots.

I've just stared using The Ordinary's Buffet serum and their Hyaluronic Acid under my regular moisturizer at night. I'm not sure if it's one in particular or the combination of both together but in the space of just a couple of weeks the difference is amazing. My skin now feels all plumped up and soft and very hydrated. I'm sure they have a Niacinamide product as well but I haven't tried that. I'm going to go back to their site and do a little research to see what would be best to tackle the little lines starting around my eyes next, maybe some sort of Retinol product? I think you might like the range since there are no added perfumes etc. that might break you out so they feel more basic ingredients that work rather than luxury skincare if that makes sense. Plus it's very cheap!

Thanks I shall check it out. I like the name buffet. I am very scared of anything that says anything like exfoliate or peel. I spend my skincare life trying to bulid my skin into an effective defence rather than the big reactive scaredy cat that it is!

I am using the Ordinary hyaluronic and I like it very much. My skin is sensitive. Agree with pp that it's very comfortable and hydrating. If you can get Superdrug their pure hydrating serum is good - even better with a couple of drops of the hyaluronic.

This is really gentle and not £££ if it doesn't suit www.superdrug.com/Skin/Face/Face-Serums/Superdrug-Simply-Pure-Hydrating-Serum-50ml/p/342700

I use The Body Shop's 'drops of youth' serum and it hasn't given me any kind of skin problems. I know what you mean about being tentative to try new things, I have eczema and acne with sensitive skin.

Have you looked at La Roche Posay Rosiliac products? I use the serum from that range.

Oops. Ignore me I just saw the end of your op Blush

Thanks for your recommendations. I shall have a look at them all. I like that none of them are too pricey!
