Nose Piercings

I think I am going to get my nose pierced. I've wanted it done for ages but I don't think it will suit me at all.
Will you show me photos of your pierced noses?

My nose is really red because I caught it on a bath towel but I have a really small gem in mines barely noticeable

deary · 29/08/2017 14:15

I need something very discreet due to my job, although I am planning to eventually have a ring in it when it is healed and in school holidays!

The place I went let me pick my own stud, I had a flat sliver disc shape. Then changed to this I'll try find a similar photo mines looks terrible just now

I'm not taking a pic of it in as you can't see it properly. But this is the stud I wear. It is tiny. So small that it could go through the hole if I let it. Bought a pack off eBay for a few quid - they are earrings, I think.

That's like what I had it pierced with, the gem I have now is smaller

I had my nose pierced 20 odd years ago and it fell out during the night and that was end of that!
Would a labret stud work?
Can anyone recommend somewhere good to buy piercing jewellery?

Try to steer clear of silver jewellery and look for titanium or surgical steel. You can also buy Bioflex studs as retainers for keeping your piercing open. The Bioflex is relatively clear and hard to see so you can wear it discreetly if needed.
body jewellery shop and Maria Tash - higher end

Find somewhere that will pierce you with a needle and not a gun.

I've had my nose pierced 4 times over the last 10 years or so. I've sneezed out/knocked every stud I've had. Even the little curly ones and they are impossible to get back in. One got a horrible bubble of skin next to it too.
I had it done for the 4th (and hopefully final) time with a ring straight away almost 4 years ago and aside from changing it once to the ring I have now I've never had it out nor had any issues with it. I mostly forget I have it but I do love it.
Good luck!
Oh and definitely needle not gun which I think someone else has already said.

I'm now 45, and had mine done when I was sweet 18 years old. I have loved it ever since!
I took both my DDs to get their noses pierced when they were both around 15. They still love it too (all pierced with guns).
I tend to go with gold piercings, as I wear gold jewelry, and I have had loads of compliments over the years.
I can't imagine my face without a nose ring in it!

Just taken a really unflattering photo so not posting it but I either wear a tiny opal or diamond, not especially noticeable and I wear them in a corporate environment. Had mine done 15 years ago when I was at uni.

deary · 29/08/2017 15:48

I love the ring sausage, that is my goal. However, as I am a new teacher in a school, I think I will have to work up to that.

I had a nose stud for years and for a while had a cheap silver stud in it. I changed to a surgical steel ring a few years back and I love it. It took a bit to get used to the ring over the stud but I can't imagine my face without it now.

I had mine done with a gun but I do not encourage this as it can go wrong and blow your nose cartilage to bits. Go to a proper piercer and chat to them. I am scared of needles and they calmed me down and were really helpful. Also, they can order you alternative jewellery from their supplier and change it for you in a sterile environment. My place charges £5 for a change over including the new jewellery. You get what you pay for and it's not that much.

You can have your nose pierced safely for the price of a dominos pizza :-).

Good luck and enjoy your new piercing!

I've recently had my first needle piercing, and although I am really happy with the healing- they only seem to have expensive jewellery. The cheapest for my helix was £36 and that was with a jewellery with a stone in it. I really want plainer jewellery, but they don't do it. I am a bit torn, as I was happy having it done there- but I don't really want their jewellery.
I'm loving your pictures!
I'm possibly too old, too fat and too frumpy- but I don't care!

UrbanSausages · 29/08/2017 16:03

That's a shame. I noticed a teacher at DDs primary school with a similar ring to mine. Rules on piercings/tattoos/hair styles annoy me Hmm

You're definitely not too old, too fat or too frumpy!

deary · 29/08/2017 16:49

Thank you! Fat and grumpy can be rectified! Old is a privilege!
There is another teacher with a nose stud- so I thought I'd take it from there!

deary "Old is a privilege"
