They're painful and take forever to shift often leaving behind a nice mark

I use it as a body wash in the shower, on my chest, shoulders & back. Definite improvement since I started with it. I've also stopped using a SLS / SLES based shampoo, which I think has made a difference.

Yes it's brilliant. I started using it to help with my hormonal and cystic spots after seeing so many recommendations on here. I dilute it so half and half with water in an old dispenser bottle and use first thing in the morning and after taking my make up off at night. Can't recommend it highly enough!

Good to hear. Is the general method to dilute with water, half and half, and store to be used later?

Sounds interesting, I've been struggling with cystic acne on my chin since having the coil. Do you use it as a face wash or apply with cotton wool?

Libitina · 31/08/2017 22:11

Have you tried Australian Body Care Skin Wash? I've used it for 15+ years and will never be without it. QVC usually has them on offer. The litre bottle lasts forever. No smell left on your skin.
I use Hibiscrub at work on my hands and it is SOOOOO drying.

With the Hibiscrub, I usually just squirt some out & use it neat all over. About half a teaspoonful does my entire back, chest & shoulders. I don't stand under the shower while I massage it on. I rinse my hands & wash my arms & legs with something else, leave Hibiscrub on for a minute or so, then rinse everything off together. I wouldn't use it on my face though, I use La Roche Posay Toleriane cleanser there. Mild but effective. Then an alcohol free toner (I use pure floral water - rose or orange from a proper aromatherapy shop).

I've been using it diluted half n half with water on my face like a face wash for about a year. It doesn't cause me any problems. I wouldn't use it on my face undiluted though.

In the morning I put it on, brush my teeth, then wash it off. In the evening, I take my make up off, put it on, leave it on while I get everything together for a shower, then wash it off in the shower.

I think it works for me because I'm terrible for touching my face in work. I work on computers all day so often sit with my left hand on my chin/cheek! I also get hormonal spots and the odd cystic one.

I still get some, but I find they go a lot quicker than they used to.

I've also recently discovered Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil - I used a sample for a week and I swear the redness from previous spots has reduced and some of my others have gone. I'm also convinced some of my fine lines have reduced. I've just ordered a full sized one I'm so impressed!

Hi - I came on here to ask advice for clearing a breakout on my forehead of 3 large underground spots - I guess that's called cystic? I have had different types of acne or rosacea since teens - currently clear except for the zone in my lower forehead which will get a crop of these nasty underground ones. Sister's wedding in 3 weeks! So sounds like I should try hibiscrub?

CremeDeSudo · 05/09/2017 09:06

At a fiver I figure it can't hurt?

Fakingit36 · 05/09/2017 12:34

I got some over the weekend and am on day 2 trying just a little diluted with a washcloth on the problem patches. One is already better . Not quite sure if it's causal but great! I'm finding it hard to believe that something on the surface of the skin can work way down in there for these nasty underground ones.. but if it works I'll take it!

CarrieBradshawsScrunchie · 05/09/2017 15:56

Yes, yes, yes! It really works!

Queenofthedrivensnow · 05/09/2017 19:21

Where do you buy it from?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 05/09/2017 19:38

Zynerit, or was it Zineryt, on prescription from your GP is really good for cystic acne.

SimplyNigella · 05/09/2017 21:44

I ordered from Amazon and I am using it just on my chin. Three days in and no new spots yet.

StaceMum01 · 07/09/2018 10:51

After a year of postpartum acne - I'm trying hibiscrub. Finger crossed!! Such a drag having to deal with acne as a grown up!!!

Chillywilly93 · 27/10/2019 20:13

Yes used hibiscrub successfully in the past, Boots do a good cleanser. However what has really helped me is a combo of Cod liver oil and CBD paste for my acne. Literally cleared me up within a month, I had cycstic jaw acne. Vitamin A from the fish oil and CBD/ cannabionoids from the CBD paste.

Fish oil I used (taking 3 of the 1 a day pills per day) - www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-cod-liver-oil-1000mg-softgel-capsules-60019016

CBD paste I used (pea sized dollop morning and night, added benefit is I sleep much better now!) - cbdiablo.co.uk/product/el-tenedor-del-diablo-raw-cbd-paste-1000mg/
