Tattoo removal

Have you got experience? Does it work?

I have one I don't HATE but I do regret it a bit. It's relatively small, just black line drawing. I was thinking I'd get it removed until someone told me removal doesn't work.... any personal experiences?

Black ink is the most responsive to removal.
I have had about 6 sessions on a black and orange tattoo and the black is barely visible now, the orange is more stubborn.

dementedpixie · 26/08/2017 22:35

Could you get a cover up instead?

Venusflytwat · 26/08/2017 22:45

I wouldn't cover it if I couldn't remove it; I like the drawing but it's somewhere visible and it's that I don't like, I think.

Thanks pink, that's useful to know. I don't suppose you'd be willing to show me a photo?

As an aside I always think it's bizarre on Tattoo Fixers when they cover up a tiny (shit) tattoo with something that covers an entire thigh or whatever!

Just bumping to see if anyone else has experience...

I do. I went down the excision route. What would you like to know?

bakedbeansandtuna · 27/08/2017 09:55

I did try picosure first though: but its was very expensive and it was obviously going to stay for a good couple of years and I wanted it gone. The website real self has lots of people talking about their experiences.

FinallyDecidedOnUserName · 27/08/2017 10:00

Had a small toe ring lazered off. Hurts like a bastard and took 7 sessions costing around £300 total. Am very pleased it's gone but my goodness it was painful.

bakedbeansandtuna · 27/08/2017 18:34

Although, my decision to excise was, some might say, an extreme one so if you can persevere with it, laser is of course going to be better. Plus, only small tattoos in particular areas can be excised.

I found this back when I was doing my research; everythingtattooremoval.tumblr.com/page/2

There's a lady called Andrea Catton who does the picosure in the North, but I'm not sure if its really worth the extra. Some people say it is. In London there's a place called the Reset Room and I think they do the picosure laser cheaper.

Good luck!

Venusflytwat · 27/08/2017 22:01

I'd never even heard of excising tattoos!

Finally that sounds reasonable! Whereabouts in the UK are you?

bakedbeans are you happy with the result? Do you have much scarring?

OP posts:
bakedbeansandtuna · 27/08/2017 22:16

I am. Very much- but my main priority was not having that tattoo anymore. You have to treat with silicone for a year afterwards - and excision isn't cheap. If it's not driving you round the bend you will always be better with the laser. But with excision I was in and 45 minutes out again - minus the skin with the tattoo. Blush

Venusflytwat · 27/08/2017 22:19

Do you mind me asking how much it cost and how big your tattoo was?

OP posts:
bakedbeansandtuna · 27/08/2017 22:52

Just under 1K and it was small 2cm by 2cm.

No more tattoos for me .... Envy

Venusflytwat · 28/08/2017 18:54

Wow. That's quite a cost. I'm glad you're happy with it now though.

Mine is about 3x3cm. A black line drawing. Maybe come the winter when everything is more covered up I'll have a few laser sessions and see.

I wish you all the luck Venus- keep us updated! 😊 and ask away if you have any questions about the laser as I did try that first!!
