Inspired by the shit products thread by @rainatnight

This thread is for the products that really do as promised...

Mine are Clinique Full to flutter mascara - love how it goes on and how easily it washes off

NYX eye primer - used to have a real problem with my eye liner smudging until i got this

OPI nail envy - i've never ever had such long and strong nails as i do now after a month of using it

What are yours?

Thanks Fluffy.
But WAIT! Scars from Retin A?? Sacre bleu! What happened?

I will spend the evening listening looking at red light. Sounds good. I used to have terrible acne and have some marks. But I would be most interested for the anti age benefits . I wonder is it really collagen boosting.

Apols to all for the diversion. Scenic tho, no? Wink

noshit · 27/08/2017 16:38

For me, these have been my holy grail!

Estée Lauder advanced night repair
Estée Lauder double wear stay in place foundation
Estée Lauder the mattifier primer

noshit · 27/08/2017 16:39

Ooh forgot - Emma Hardie moringa cleansing balm

faustina · 27/08/2017 17:47

Hourglass foundation is fab (the stick one)
also
The Ordinary:
Azaleic (?) Acid
Vitamin C 30%
Advanced Retinoid 2%
Buffet Serum

faustina · 27/08/2017 17:50

oh and this shampoo is amazing: my. colour - I am using the gold one but they have other colours. You can get it at Boots. Was a Sali Hughes recommendation

EnormousDormouse · 27/08/2017 17:51

The only products I re-purchase religiously are:
Elemis pro-collagen marine cream
LRP Anthelios sun lotions (facial and body)
Lily lolo mineral foundations.
I have evil skin that reacts and swells up on whim but I know I am safe with these!

lindyloo57 · 27/08/2017 19:46

ijusyneedmycoffee where do you get your retin A?

Ijustneedmycoffee · 27/08/2017 23:26

lindy I get it over the counter when I'm away -Spain, Portugal, France. Or get friends/family to get me one when they're away. I can't use it everyday (too sensitive) so a tube lasts me ages.

Ijustneedmycoffee · 27/08/2017 23:30

Posted too soon. The one I have now is called Retirides. Can't remember the others. Ketrel or something like that, I think. But the pharmacist will know - ask for tretinoin.

EdinaMonsoon · 28/08/2017 04:38

Korres Milk Protein Cleansing Balm - leaves skin beautifully soft and doesn't drag or sting when removing eye make-up.

Aveda Be Curly Style Prep. Excellent for soft waves whether you leave to air-dry or use a diffuser.

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme. Also the Body Building shampoo/conditioner.

Redken Extreme shampoo/conditioner.

Chanel Coco Rouge lipsticks & Rouge Allure.

Loreal Extraordinary Oil Cream. Excellent for dry skin & as good as Clarins.

Youranus · 28/08/2017 11:03

Of the hundreds of products I've bought over the years, these are the ones I'd recommend:
Estee Lauder Double Wear,
Rapidlash,
Nip Fab glycolic serum,
Boots No7 beautiful skin cleansing brush.

bananafish81 · 28/08/2017 11:36

Lancome hypnose
NARS creamy concealer
Lancome Teint Miracle foundation
Biore Watery Essence SPF 50
Kleenex blotting sheets
Too Faced primed and poreless

Previously I'd have said all sorts of skincare lotions and potions (Eucerin Hyaluron filler serum, Clarins Blue Orchid Oil, Paula's Choice 2% BHA) but actually turns out my skin isn't dehydrated, I was over using product.

Dermatologist took me off everything and put me on two prescription products for my spots (Skinoren and Treclin) and now my acne is clearing up and I'm no longer dehydrated. I actually have to remind myself to use moisturiser once a day at night.

The red light led was discovered by accident when nasa used it to grow plants in space.

The astronauts don't heal that well in space if they cut themselves so they tried putting red light led on the area to see if it helped.

I've seen sun beds advertised as having red light led to increase collagen but as your blasting your skin with uv it's a bit counter productive.

I have seen red light led lie down beds on American websites but nothing here yet.

You lose a lot of collagen in the skin at menopause, which would explain why women age differently to men as well as our thinner skin, so it will be interesting to see what effect it will have if I use it consistently.

Astral moisturizer is perfect for my dry skin, after years of trying out anti aging youth boasting £££ costing shite I've realized that this stuff is the best and makes no bogus claims.
Benefit Roller Lash is great.
Dior Star foundation is lovely.
Clinique CC cream is just the right thickness for coverage yet leaves you looking natural,
Baby lotion as a facial cleanser is a MUST for me.
Aveeno for when my eczema plays up.
SmashBox Matt lipsticks are amazing if not a bit dry, but I can cope with that as the colours are so unusual.

graceyg · 29/08/2017 20:04

Loving The Ordinary - niacinamide , lactic acid, squalene and buffet!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 29/08/2017 21:37

Repurchases
Sunday Riley Good Genes
Elemis marine cream
Rodial Dragons blood serum
Nars sheer glow in Punjab
Hourglass bronze/blush/ highlighter palette in sunset
Hourglass Radiant Light powder
Liquid Gold
Pixi Glow tonic
REN Flash facial exfoliate
Aesop Resurrection hand wash
Origins Ginger bath float.

BusterGonad · 30/08/2017 16:19

I've just bought Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation (liquid) as it was half price, and it's lovely, very subtle and glowy and I just love it.
I doubt it'll be any good for oily skin or skin that needs a lot of cover but I like it a lot!

battenbergbutterfly · 30/08/2017 16:28

Nivea and Astral

mowglik · 30/08/2017 18:25

Buster i tried the benefit oxygen foundation when it came out and I remember it being lovely and really glowy but sadly a little too glowy for me, having oily skin. I was thinking it would be great for dry skin.

Mine:
Emma Hardie cleansing balm
Hada labo hyaluronic lotion
OST vitamin C serum
Ysl fusion ink foundation - velvet finish, medium coverage
DHC cleansing oil
Aldi caviar illuminating 3 min mask
Philip B maui wowie salt spray
Elvive fibrology thickening shampoo and conditioner - magic stuff for thinning hair

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/09/2017 15:22

Aveeno - my poor DD was driven mad by two red dry patches on her face that she was really self conscious about but using concealer made them dry.

In desperation, I bought her Aveeno face cream..................did the job , she continues to use it and no recurrance.
Ok its not the cheapest but it isn't in the £££ catergory.

Ijustneedmycoffee · 02/09/2017 20:37

Lipikar Baume AP. Hands down the best body moisturiser I've ever tried, esp for the kids.

theaccidentaleconomist · 02/09/2017 21:49

Elave body wash and moisturising cream-the only thing that works for my dry sensitive skin
Hylamide serum
Lancome Genifique Nutrics Creme
Dermalogica Super Sensitive Shield-the only mineral sunscreen that doesn't make me look like I've smeared Sudocrem on my face
La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser
La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra moisturiser for when my skin goes through one of its reacting to everything phases.
Boots Essentials Curl Creme
Kerastase Shampoos
Pureology Conditioners
Colgate Pro-Relief Toothpaste

The L'Oreal Group have recently discontinued several of my favourite products :

L'Oreal Professionnel Intense Repair Masque
Pureology Precious Oil
Kerastase Chroma Riche Masque
