Please help me not to be a spotty bride!

Hello all, help needed!

I am getting married in a month. I've had mild acne since I was a teenager and am now 35. My face is fine, it's my chest and back that are causing problems, and in my naivety I bought a dress months ago which exposes them both, thinking I'd find a way to clear it. No such luck.

I have been on Lymecycline since February and that has definitely helped, but it is still not 100% clear. I have a healthy diet, drink 2 litres of water a day and have just switched from shower gel to tea tree soap as I heard that shower gel can aggravate it. I am going to try cutting out dairy to see if that helps. I am also going for a Murad back treatment the week before as this has helped in the past.

Can anyone recommend any concealers for the body? I am white with dark hair and quite fair skin. The spots are small and red, rather than big and poppable!

Also, would any kind of fake tan treatment help to even my skin tone out and make me look a bit less rashy? Never had one before...

Thanks everyone :)

Sunbeds! Shock

Salicylic acid as mentioned above. 100% dairy free (inc caseins etc). This cured mine

Cosmetics is the way to go. With just one month left and presumably a bit of stress during that time, you can't hope to fix a long-term condition.

Just watch it doesn't end up on your dress - not a good look. I wouldn't normally recommend this for your skin, but consider "fixing" the made up chest and back with hairspray on the day.

I have been prescribed minocycline for when I have break outs. I use DUAC on a daily basis if I can feel spots under the skin.
I also use nip and fab extreme acid pads as it really smooths out the texture of my skin.

RetinA cleared the really bad acne on my back and it's never returned.

Sunbeds. I wouldn't suggest them for anything else but here it's a good bet. Don't overdo it and go a good week or two before the wedding to allow things to settle/fade

Sunbed I'm afraid and then a longer term treatment. I have this issue and resort to regular sunbeds. I'm also finding fusidin can't spell it quite effective to treat what's already there. It will take 10 days to work though. I also use a witch hazel foaming cleanser at least once a day.
You cannot pick even if you have to sit on your hands.

Also from bitter experience using a body scrub will make it flare up like you can't imagine so stay away from them. Good luck x

hello long tern bad acne fighter here. my conditions significantly improved for the last couple of years, especially after giving a birth . I tried all kinds of treatments possible before and found nothing really helps to get rid of them completely, just one day i got pregnant the next day acne disappeared from my face...how odd... i still get spots occasionally on my face but its manageable now.

there are interim measures to contain acne and i found applying heavy layer of clear skin cream from boots helpful, as well as origins spot remover and using rosay posay effeclair tinted BB cream instead of the foundation. antibiotic containing creams will help too byt give only short term results.
