Is it worth getting for those that bought it? Was all out of stock for so long and now back in.

And anything else for dry, reactive skin ?

ThanksSmile

I went for 1.1p. I tried a little on the back of my hand and I think it's going to be too dark, but I have some Nip+Fab foundation lightener so I'll mix a bit of that into it. I'm very pink though, without a trace of yellow in my skin and I suspect that this won't be 'right' even when it's a bit paler.

I'm 50 and have used both the Serum and Coverage in 1.0NS & 1.0N respectively
I love them both - Serum one is my "go to" foundation now. I apply with a flat topped Sigma F80 brush & it not only matches my very pale neutral complexion but lasts all day
How is everyone applying it if it goes streaky?

I found applying with fingers wasn't a success but brush - perfect!

Dame - I'm glad I watched the hot & flashy review before buying it. I ended up investing ££ in her highest rated foundation instead - Chanel perfection lumiere velvet - it is really lovely. I have an oily nose / big pores & dryish cheeks (I'm gawjus!) - it deals with both beautifully.

You can get colour matched for The Ordinary at their pop up shop in Covent Garden. I was in there to buy some other products but it looked good on the people sampling it. For another cheap as chips but good foundation look at Beauty Pie.

Maudlinmaud · 23/08/2017 20:18

Do you know what Badly I haven't tried chanel in years, not since they discontinued pro lumier (I think that's what it was called) it was a beautiful foundation. I might get the velvet this week when I'm out.

I've hardly tried expensive foundations. Estee Lauder was pants and Dior was utter, utter crap and I was matched the wrong colour!

Best ones I've found are Max Factor miracle touch and Lily Lolo powder.

I bought the 2.1 Y originally as it was the only colour left in stock, it was very dark and orange on me, but matched my DM perfectly, she's delighted with it and pleased to have discovered a new brand.

I have recently received 1.2 YG 1.2N as coverage foundation and 1.2N as serum foundation none of which I can use as I've returned from holiday with quite a tan. ( the 2.1Y is still way to dark and orange)
I'm looking forward to trying them in the autumn once I need to wear foundation again.

Tantpoke · 24/08/2017 12:45

I have to add my favourite high street foundation is L'Oréal perfect match in 2N it's what I wear the most to work although I go for a high end brand if my skin is looking meh and for a night out etc such as clarins everlasting.

Also a big favourite of mine for its lasting power and coverage is Vichy dermablend I use a mix of 25 nude and 15 opal and always use their loose powder with all my foundations it's good stuff imho.

theaveragewife · 24/08/2017 12:46

I have 2.0P and love it, I have the coverage but it isn't very heavy in comparison to many others, I think it's similar to Nars sheer glow. I also haven't found it very drying but have been using with alpha arbutin (for melasma), azelaic acid (for rosacea) mixing my moisturiser with hyaluronic acid then the ordinary primer before applying foundation. Honestly, my skin has never looked as good as it does now.

Nabootique · 24/08/2017 14:56

I have the coverage and the serum. I managed the get a good colour match, but the foundations themselves are meh. I prefer the serum one, but it's only as good as a decent BB cream in my opinion, in terms of finish and coverage. The coverage one didn't work for me, although I haven't completely given up and will try it with a different primer at some point. It broke apart and went patchy very quickly. I have quite oily skin but I think it's aimed more at oily people!

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 27/08/2017 21:20

The serum foundation is a horrible texture. It must have a lot of silicone in it. I was trying it out, and I used a sponge on one side and my fingers on the other. It was too dark and even when I lightened it a bit it wasn't pink enough, so it won't be for me anyway. When I washed my hands it wouldn't come off, at all. I tried with soap first, which was useless, so I tried my makeup remover and even that didn't get it all off. My fingers had a weird feel for the rest of the evening and when I ate an apple it left a taste on the apple. I don't think it came off properly until I washed my hair the next morning.

Lndnmummy · 31/08/2017 18:20

Dame drama I wouldn't bother. 'Tis very ordinary indeed. I'm normally much in agreement with Hirons/Hughes/Barnes but really not worth the hype imo.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 31/08/2017 18:28

I've tried both foundations now and have been left disappointed. They're actually ok, but I felt they were hyped up so much before release that they haven't lived up to the 'holy grail of foundations' that I was expecting. They're good for the money is the best I can say. I don't think either has particularly great coverage, and don't last the day.

I do rate their skincare though, it really has changed my skin for the better. At the beginning of the year I had spotty cheeks, and then hormonal spots around my chin and jawline...I barely get spots now. I use the buffet, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

I tried their moisturiser too, but again found it pretty average.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 31/08/2017 23:23

Thanks for all the info, I think I'll just order some skin care and see how I get on.
