I'm after the flawless finish and need some help from products to achieve this:

Should I go for the Estee Lauder Double Wear? Or Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion?
any other ideas? (from a make up counter where I can get a sample first so I dont waste money on the wrong colour!)

Mac studio fix fluid foundation is great

I tried kat von d foundation a couple of weeks ago, great full coverage but slightly cakey. I'm sure it was due to my skin not being moisturised before the sales rep slapped it on me. So I'm going to get a sample and have a play. Just thought I'd mention it.

I've tried every full coverage foundation in chrisindom and the once I think are good are estee lauder double wear, but the one in the blue tube not the glass one, although it does oxidize quite a lot on my face, so consider that when colour matching, and the benefit all nighter, the estee lauder one looks better on my skin which is probe to dryness but I noticed it transfers more than the benefit, but the benefit one looks slightly cakey sometimes, usually if I've worn it for a long time! Hope this helps

Mac Pro Longwear is great. Buildable so definitely could provide full coverage if needed.

I used to swear by Estée Lauder DW but find the Pro Longwear suits me so much better.

I suppose it depends on your skin; oily, dry, combination. You might be better off getting a few different samples and seeing what suits.

thanks. All the mac ones I tried were the wrong colour tone for me - slightly yellowy. I am more pinky.

I've tried loads, MAC, Estée Lauder, Face Atelier (over £30 a bottle!), Benefit and whilst I loved different things about them all I've now found my absolute holy grail - Primark!! £3 or £4 a bottle. It's the matte one with a black lid and is absolutely fantastic.

fightoff - i find foundations change colour on me which is why I definitely have to have a sample to take away to try a few times

I don't think I've seen the pro-longwear . .

I have the same problem, I've had MAC sculpture studio which was just way too difficult for me to apply and it just used to sit on my face.

Now I use Estée Lauder double wear and I love it - you don't need 19 years practice for it to look good on your face and it lasts really long time.

Revlon Colourstay

i prefered double wear over the kat von d one, and i hate double wear, i can wait to finish it

I've just changed to the Estee Lauder one after 30 years on Elzabeth Arden Flawless Finish. I love EL.

Only problem, be careful not to get it on fabric. I got some on a duvet cover. Having tried all sorts to remove it including three different Stain Devils, the fabric has lost colour and the EL is still there!!

Notmybag · 16/08/2017 20:32

thanks.
No one used the Laura Mercier?

I love the hourglass vanish stick, but it is rather expensive for the piddly amount you get (though a little does go a long way). Too Faced Born This Way is good as is The Balm Even Steven (limited colour choice, the lightest looks really dark but as it blends does become lighter).
