5 days in Sussex how many clothes?

I'm going to Sussex for 5 days next week and am renowned for overpacking, however I'm travelling by train so need to be sensible .
Does this sound realistic:
1 pair of jeans
1 pair of navy harem trousers
Navy leggings
5 t shirts (white, red and white stripe, grey, red and pale blue)
Red tunic
Denim dress
Red cardigan
Navy knitted poncho
Denim jacket

What do you think - too much?

Thank you

Sounds about right but do you have a waterproof jacket?

curragh · 15/08/2017 21:34

And what about shoes?

specialsubject · 15/08/2017 22:23

What are you going to be doing?

plum1304 · 15/08/2017 22:27

No I don't plan on taking a waterproof jacket, the forecast is pretty good and we'll have use of a car. I'll probably throw in a brolly...!

As for shoes, I have less choice as I have torn my peroneal tendon so it's two pairs of trainers, a pair I can wear with my ankle brace and a nice pair!! Plus a pair of sandals

Thank you!

It's more then I would need but it will all pack into a rucksack so I think it's fine

Firefries · 15/08/2017 22:32

I'd only take three t shirts, and one dress. And probably take either the cardie or poncho, but not both. I'm trying to learn to pack less too, so that would be my advice.

FruitBadger · 15/08/2017 22:33

Are you going anywhere near the Sea or the Downs? The rain can come down sideways and make a brolly useless, and the weather you get one side of the Downs is frequently different to what's happening on the other side (I'm Sussex born and bred!).

Firefries · 15/08/2017 22:33

5 days means I'd wear the t shirts once or twice and be super careful not to spill anything on them.

plum1304 · 15/08/2017 22:33

Yeh my worry is that it's too much, what would you cut?

I think our days will be spent visit local places, the beach etc. We're staying with some family friends so it's all pretty low key and relaxed.

agree with fruit - i rarely use a brolly down here as its so bloody windy. the rain can be horizontal. a pac a mac takes up hardly any room.

BigGreenOlives · 15/08/2017 22:37

Shorts or something you can wear if it's baking? It was really hot by the sea today.

choppolata · 16/08/2017 09:11

If you are staying with friends you can borrow their washing machine if you need to. Will you be changing for the evenings? Don't forget that you'll be wearing one outfit to travel down there. I'd wear the jeans as they'll be the heaviest, and a T shirt I'd then use to sleep in.
