Hi all,

Calling all you style experts! I'm stuck in such a clothes rut and feel so frumpy and old (I'm 33). Had DD 16 months ago and am trying desperately to lose weight. I'm 5"5 and have about 2 stone to lose so I don't want to spend a bomb until I've got back to a decent size (12 for me) I'm currently wearing a 16 which is big for me. Huge boobs too, regardless of how much I weigh, they'll shrink a bit as I lose but I've never been smaller than a 34F even when I was a size 10, way back when. I'm currently a 36H.

At the moment I'm living in skinny (ha!) shape jeans/jeggings, long tops loose around my tummy and cardis. I'm really conscious of my bum, mum tum and arms. Generally wear dark, boring colours. Lots of black, navy etc.

What can I get to see me through the losing weight period? I need some style.

Help me please clothes lovers!

Good luck with your weight loss, OP.

A well fitting bra is essential if you want to look and feel good when dressed. However, your shape and size will probably change when you meet your weight loss goal so you will need to get re-measured and probably buy new bras again then. I would say get measured now and maybe just buy a couple of bras that fit for the time being.

If you live in the U.K., it's going to be autumn tomorrow soon so I would make sure you have a well fitting autumn coat or jacket that you like, because you will be wearing it a lot and it's the thing that people will see you in. Some of the stores will have special offers on coats and jackets at the moment to incentivise customers to buy them "early", and if you shop now you'll also have the pick of the colours and sizes.

As you're going to be losing weight, I would say maybe for the time being, other than the coat and the bra, just buy some inexpensive accessories to brighten up your look and make you feel a bit more stylish rather than buying new clothes that will soon be too big for you.

Develop a very simple and quick make-up and hair routine that works for you.

Thank you! I'm trying hard but it's tough trying to shift the baby (biscuit) weight.

Yes, I've always had a well fitting bra but good point! I've been through a number of sizes since pregnancy, BF and then post BF. I end up with neck pain if my bra isn't fitted properly.

I've never been one for high fashion, I've always tried to just dress to suit my shape but^^ ugh it's horrid wearing the same old stuff at the time.

I wear mostly the same make up - foundation, powder (crap skin) blusher, pencil in eyebrows (nicely not those huge things!) a bit of eyeshadow and mascara. Add a bit of eyeliner and lipstick if I'm going out but I never really change it up. Hair, i wash and blow dry it every day but when I say blow dry I mean blow it dry while brushing not a hairdresser type blow dry. I do keep on top of my colour and cuts. Just above shoulder length side parted bob, nothing exciting. Grew out fringe when DD was born and I had no time to straighten and style properly.
