I don't care about style, but i do care about comfort.
I will be soon doing 24hr shifts that mean i will be on my feet and walking aorund for up to 17-20hrs at a time.
What do you reckon i should wear on my feet.
Recently i have done a coule of thses shifts and ended up with very sore achey feet.
DO i have to get a pair of crocs?
#or is there an alternative???

I love my crocs and would highly recommend them

MrsApron · 29/03/2007 21:43

tbh they are great but for that amount of time changing your shoes during the shift might help.

mrsjohnsim · 29/03/2007 21:48

i fancy clogs becuse i can step in and out of them and cool my feet on the floor as necessary.
and i am such a weirdo that i have 1 pair of trainers, i pair of boots and 1 pair of sandals!
and none of those are comfy- well sandals will not be appropriate.

can't find much else but crocs and there are a few people at owrk who ahve them and swear by them too.

Ah, see if you weren't talking about cooling your feet on the floor, I'd say walking shoes etc would be more comfortable. I have crocs, I like them fine, but my feet do slide around a bit in them (I am between two sizes, and went for the larger ones). I'd wear my good trainers for lots of walking and standing, or get some specific walking shoes.

KittyLetteMeEatAnEasterEgg · 29/03/2007 21:58

they are disgusting

paulaplumpbottom · 29/03/2007 21:58

They are very comfy, you'll love them. Do not wear them in public

misdee · 29/03/2007 22:02

one of the nurses at the hospital got some after seeing mine and quizzing me on them. he loves them.

mrsjohnsim · 29/03/2007 22:45

Yes, the sort of work i will be doing is alot of standing and then there are 4 stories to negotiate the stairs.
Some of the floor is vinyl and some of it is tiled.
I need to be able to wash the footwear- and it needs to eb comfy and i suppose the weather will be hot soon, so needs to be cool

it has to be crocs doesn#t it?
but they are sooo ugly

OP posts:
Gess · 29/03/2007 22:47

yep

Took ds1 to A&E wearing crocs- all the nurses were wearing crocs.

I wear crocs as often as I can.

24 hour shifts sound vile!

berolina · 29/03/2007 22:49

can you get extremely wide feet into them?

paulaplumpbottom · 29/03/2007 22:50

I have mentioned this on other threads but you can put them in the dishwasher

berolina · 29/03/2007 22:51

(background to question being that I have extremely wide feet - I get H width children's shoes from Clarks whenever I go back to England - Germans don't seem to have wide feet - I even have trouble with Birkenstocks)

Gess · 29/03/2007 22:53

yep- berolina- there are different syles though - some more close fitting- standard crocs should be fine (all my kiddies are Gor H, I'm a G)

Try lookatmycrazyshoes.co.uk

berolina · 29/03/2007 22:54

thanks Gess

Aloha · 29/03/2007 22:56

What do you do? Sounds hideous! Are you in the UK? Are your shifts actually legal?

AitchTwoOh · 29/03/2007 22:58

they are very ugly, but it looks like they will really help you.
now here's the thing... DH gets a lot of pain in his back, legs and feet. he has been seen by the physio and it's basically a problem that he just has to live with. i have suggested that he look at crocs for wearing around the house. but a man... in crocs... will i ever be able to sleep with him again?

NormaStanleyfEGGcher · 29/03/2007 23:01

get crocs

My feet are wide, and they are very very very comfy. I usually have v sweaty feet, and they are fine in crocs. Also you can wash them so much better than anything else.

I have purple ones - I wear them in public - they have been admired

My SIL bought them for me for christmas because her sis wears them for work and swears by them, whe is a phisio and spends alot of time on her feet

Just do it - you know you want to - go on

NormaStanleyfEGGcher · 29/03/2007 23:01

Aitch - a man in crocs looks fine

mrsjohnsim · 29/03/2007 23:02

24hr shifts are fine! i get to sleep the next day.
i will be giving up my 3 days a week job, and will pay pretty much the same, once you take the childcare i pay into consideration and travel etc.
and the way i work, i don't have any responsibilty once i levae the building- apart from goinf through whether or not i could have done better etc....

anywa, i am liking the dishwahser thing too

gess · 29/03/2007 23:03

TheShopaholic · 29/03/2007 23:05

mrsjohnsim · 29/03/2007 23:06

AitchTwoOh · 29/03/2007 23:07
