Eyebrow microblading

Anyone had this done and what are your thoughts? Im so fed up of needing eyebrow make up all the time. I'm so much more confident these days and would happily go bare faced if my eyebrows were more defined.

I have no advice but squatting on your thread as I'm also thinking about it.

A friend of mine had them done recently and she loved hers and they did look very good on the FB photo she posted...

BritInUS1 · 14/08/2017 18:44

I've had mine done as mine were very patchy and they look fab. My eyebrows are very dark though

Often people comment on how perfect my eyebrows always look x

bobkate · 14/08/2017 19:45

I've had this done and love it. It has made a huge difference. But research, research, research. It took me quite a while to find someone whose photos I liked enough to get over my nervousness about it. There were a few more locally to me, but I just didn't feel their photos were what I was after.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 14/08/2017 21:22

Bobkate so where did you go? I'm in south west.
What was recovery time? Do I need time off work?

Haribogirl · 14/08/2017 21:58

I'd say that's good.
I paying £200 for a touch up.

I live in Manchester, and go to see one of Karen Betts team.
Have a look at her website, she's excellent
She does London Area also

calzone · 14/08/2017 22:14

How much???? 😱😱😱😱

Queenofthedrivensnow · 14/08/2017 22:19

Hair imo all looks good on website thanks. Now I've googled more I don't know what I'm waiting for - wish I'd got this done in time for my holiday. Next year it will be done! I'm booking an appointment for when I get back. £250 is nothing when I think how much stress my eyebrows have caused me - recovered trich Sad

I've had it done and i love it - i have my top up next week

Poppysmamma · 14/08/2017 22:41

I haven't had microblading, a lot of my friends have and it has lasted less than a year but they are happy with it. Im in the North West and the average price now is about £150. I had mine tattooed on and I really like them, just have to tint my actual eyebrows once a week and they're always perfect. There is probably a reason microblading is better than semi permanent tattooing but i chose tattooing because it doesn't require as much maintenance as microblading and lasts 5-10 years. It was relatively pain free, hurt less than an actual tattoo, a bit like tweezing so no time required off work for recovery, just make sure you have the procedure done 2+ weeks before any event as they scab and look patchy for a week or two. You won't regret it, it really does make a massive difference.

androbbob · 14/08/2017 22:42

I had it done last Thursday so still early stages and they are still dark, just starting to scab over. Hopefully by next week will have settled down. You can't get them wet for 10 days so timing needs to be considered and a top up 6 weeks after 1st appt. Took about 2 hours, half of which was drawing them on

bobkate · 14/08/2017 22:50

I'm in the East so no good for you. Mine was £250 also ( top up included ) and like a pp said...It was money well spent for me and given the results, I'm chuffed to bits.
I didn't have any time off work. They did go quite dark but not so bad I felt I had to avoid anyone. Mine were fully healed by day 11 I'd say. I was happy with the first result but after the top up they were even better. I had them done in time for my holiday and it was brilliant to not have to worry about them.
Just check they have the necessary qualifications, health & safety certificates, etc and go for it!

bobkate · 14/08/2017 22:51

I was initially worried about the not getting wet thing, as I usually drench my face constantly in the shower, but it was surprisingly easy to avoid getting my face wet. Just lowered the shower head slightly and kept my head tilted back.

Whathaveilost · 14/08/2017 23:25

Can anyone recommend any where in East Lancashire/Manchester?
I've had a look at the Karen Betts website as mentioned however there is no indication of price ( that I could see)

Dailystuck71 · 15/08/2017 07:22

I've had mine done. Mine took 4 goes though but I am thrilled. Hardest thing is keeping them dry for 2 weeks.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/08/2017 11:03

I can't wait - even the Cust commitment isn't huge when I add up all my eyebrow products which will run into thousands

JimmysMum1988 · 15/08/2017 12:00

I've got mine done and top and bottom eyeliner and I LOVE them o

Haribogirl · 15/08/2017 15:14

Yer Karen is expensive!
But I was so scared, especially with it being your face and you can't hide it.

One of her team goes to David Lloyd in Cheadle Stockport once a month, this is where I go.
Karen academy in in Yorkshire, and they do model work there for anybody living near.

The worse part I thought was not gettting them wet for 10 days, and that means at all.
When they do scab, you think the colour as gone because it seems lighter. This is where the top up comes in 4/6 weeks later.

I'd say personally mine(very thin eyebrows, and light brown) lasted about just over 1-1.5 years.
They need doing again now, they shape is still there but paler.
So at the mo just pencil them in again.

Her prices may have come down😊😊😊, as there's a lot of it about now. But you only get what you pay for.

vasseve1 · 15/08/2017 16:11

I have to ask how can your eyebrow products run into thousands? From what I know you really need to get a very experienced practitioner. The brows can be dark and obvious for a long time. Some people don't mind if they don't look natural but to me my friends that have had it for the most part they look very 'done' and obvious.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 15/08/2017 19:36

Because I'm a nerd I worked it out. I have spent at the very least £3420 on eyebrow pencil in the last 20 years. That's a minimal calculation. £171 a year. Going from £171 - £250 a year isn't a huge leap when it means I can go make up free completely to the beach and on holiday is a bargain

OP posts:
vasseve1 · 15/08/2017 20:12

Sounds like you did quite a bit of filling in about one eyebrow pencil a month so microblading might be the way to go. I hope it is successful.
