Shoeaholics UK vs Ireland

I wondered how there wasn't a thread on this, I've been using them for years (from Irl). Always great value and customer service etc etc. Recently a banner has appeared on their site advising they have a .ie site. Hurray I thought! Same prices and service. WRONG.
Higher prices for the same shoes. I continue using the UK site because I can but I'm not impressed. I bought the Jill Wedge from Michael Kors from them for a grand total of £53.76 including delivery. This equates to €59.15 in todays exchange rate. The Irish version of the site is charging €69 for the same shoe, without delivery. I'm sure that's another €5 at least.
This is nonsense and as a long standing customer I would love an explanation.

That's crazy! I think stores do it because they can & are never challenged on it. Monsoon, Debenhams & Next are as bad - nothing winds me up as much as seeing the UK price blackened out on a price tag. I always double check the sterling vs euro price online before I buy too.

It is crazy! Would love to hear their explanation...
If there is one.

The prices are set at a euro amount, not allowing for the exchange rate which fluctuates. It's always been like that. More noticeable when sterling drops agains the euro. Pain in the ass, and no doubt set to benefit the vendor, but just use the UK site

In shops the usual reason trotted out is that there are higher costs involved in operating here- wages, rents, rates etc.

Dontlaugh · 13/08/2017 20:52

I appreciate all of the above reasons but there's nothing to stop me shopping on the uk site which is way cheaper. I'm not scientific nor logical enough to get into the wherefores nor whyfores. But surely #Shoeaholics don't think Irish people are that stupid that they don't realise it's cheaper to shop on the UK site currently?
