Hypothetically of course - have no money so am asking purely for window shopping purposes

I really like this site but would love to know of other "different" clothes places online.

actually I say that, my mum keeps buying me stuff before I get a chance to. latest purchase is a lovely skirt from M&S (that bastion of hippydom!)

bobsmum · 02/04/2007 20:35

I just picked up a Joe Brown catalogue at my mum's - looks like it fell out a Sunday supplement but I ended up circling loads of floaty camis etc - seemed pretty reasonable, but have never heard of them before.

Uttam is in House of Fraser too - their sales ususally knock off up to 705 off - mght be online too, but not sure. No sale atm thoguh.

bobsmum · 02/04/2007 20:37

This sort of thing?

Joe Browns

Miaou · 02/04/2007 20:38

Thanks bobsmum - I will have a check out of their site in a mo

Oooh - they have maaassive sale atm - look under "Bargains"

lemonaid · 02/04/2007 20:46

You could check out Nomads Clothing , which is also fair trade.

earlgrey · 02/04/2007 20:47

Miaou, I really LUUUURRRVEEE that site. Have bought loads from there - some things are quite reasonable. I recently bought that skirt made out of old saris and I love it.

Another one I like, but it is quite expensive, is gudrunsjoden.com. See what you think.

bobsmum · 02/04/2007 20:52

lemonaid - am requesting catalogue right now! thanks Miaou for this thread

Bucketsofdynomite · 02/04/2007 20:54

I discovered Uttam whilst in TKMaxx, quite a bit on Ebay too.

Miaou · 02/04/2007 20:55

Ahhhh - in heaven now!! I love the boots for sale in Joe Browns, and am now ploughing through the lovely stuff in Nomads .... thank you!!

Which site, earlgrey? It was you who put me on to Tansen you know!

I was looking for the gudrun site last week - couldn't remember the name though! Unfortunately I'm quite petite and I think all her stuff would swamp me - some lovely patterns though

bobsmum · 02/04/2007 22:27

shame on you for posting that Tansen site. Niiiiiiice....must put bank card in freezer for fear it melts this month

Lucycat · 03/04/2007 13:53

Joe Browns stuff is ok quality too, not Fat Face quality but ok, they don't tend to be overly generous with their sizing so bear that in mind.

FairyChocolateDragonsEgg · 03/04/2007 13:58

was going to suggest Nomads and Namaste but I've been beaten to it , do you like hippy stuff for your LOs too Miaou? If so SuSuMama is def worth a look.

Lucycat · 03/04/2007 14:03

oh I love that Nomads site - lovely stuff!

filthymindedvixen · 03/04/2007 14:10

Damn you for making me want to spend money!!

Miaou, I have that patchworky cardie/jacket thingy you linked to, they do stock that make in TK maxx sometimes... (I wear it for festivals as is snuggly)

I always fear I am getting to old for lovely funky hippy stuff, so I love hearing I am not alone

Namaste stuff is a bit of a PITA as it is all handwash in cold water only (though, I sometimes bung it through on a 30 degrees wash and tis fine)

Miaou · 03/04/2007 15:40

fmv, there is a shop in my local town that sometimes has them (though I fear they have gone more mainstream recently ) - am coveting one for next autumn!

Fairychocolate - nah, my dds just get cast-offs and like it - tend to avoid slogans/princess/pink/trendy stuff for them but otherwise I just stick to what is cheap!! Hence the window-shopping - I don't have the budget to go with the new wardrobe
