Bra massive weight gain shoulder neck agony

I am tall but bigger than I should be but due to several health issues struggling to lose weight. I had a breast reduction 5 years ago put loads of weight on recently measured as a 46DD in local bra shop so am very big underneath but they didn't have a bra that big underneath to fit me. They said try Yours and I managed to get one only £14.99 but the shoulder strap particularly on one side is really digging in giving me shoulder and neck pain. So I don't think that's supportive enough. I can't wait to take it off when I get home. Any advice?

I hate jumping down poster's throats and saying 'are you sure about your bra size?', but I guess ARE you sure? Alarm bells are ringing about bring measured by a local shop - are they by any chance using the 'add 4 method'? I know my local shop still does this, so you end up with too large a band that in turns means all the weight is hanging from your shoulders. Have you measured yourself under bust? Are your boobs fitting properly in the cups with no spillage at the sides or over the top? Is the central gore lying flat between your boobs?

I'm actually a 36K, but M&S tried to put me in something like a 44E and I had very similar problems to you.

Whatever my weight my boobs are always massive. The most important thing with regard to support is getting the right band width. That then supplies most of the report. If you rely on the shoulder straps to hold you up you will get all the problems you describe. I long ago accepted that I have to spend a lot of money for good well fitting bras. Try Bravissimo and expect to spend at least £25-£35. It's a lot of money but it's worth it for improved comfort, posture and appearance.

Thanks for the replies I agree with you re the support but goodness knows how I find it. I also accepted the expense too my last bras that fit were Prima Donna bras retailing at £70 odd pounds so shockingly expensive unfortunately now there band sizes don't go up any higher so don't fit also with being 6ft tall there shoulder straps are quite short with no opportunity to adjust. I have also tried Bravisimo but due to the weight gain there bands don't go up big enough either.

This lady will custom make them. She can fit by post if necessary but I actually know a couple of people who booked a cheap flight to Poland for a day trip and they said it was worth every penny. Desperate measures, but sometimes necessary! Good luck, it's horrible not having decent bras. www.ewa-michalak.pl/eng_m_BRAS-119.html

Have you measured yourself using the Boob or Bust method? Have you tried going down a back size and up a cup size?

If you measure yourself and you're still not sure, buy several sizes online and have a good trying on session.

Thanks Cherries and bombardier for the suggestions I will have a go at the measuring tonight.

No way in a million years a you going to be a 46DD in MN bra intervention method. You are carrying all the weight on your shoulders rather than the main strap. 46DD is such an odd size - suspect you will go up cup and down back.

Brighteyes27 · 08/08/2017 22:14

I duno Hulder I am have put so much weight on especially around my middle.
