Hyper pigmentation

Anybody had any success treating hyper pigmentation on the face? It started when I was pregnant (chloasma? I always want to call it cloaca, which is the single vagina/anus thing platypuses have - I don't have that), but it's persisting and getting worse. Any products or treatments anybody can suggest that have worked?

I have this under one eye which makes my dark circles look so much worse, I look like I have a shiner! I tried a cream from Clinique but it did nothing. Am going to get some of these Nip n Fab pads..

I got this on my forehead when pregnant with my 3rd. She almost 2 now and it's still there. I'm naturally pale so it shows up quite badly. Ive tried loads of things and no joy so far although it is fading slightly. It's so dark I can't even find make up to cover it up so I'm watching this thread with interest. If anyone gets any results from anything please update! I get really self conscious over it.

I've bought some of those pads from Amazon. Fingers crossed

I tried Nip and Fab Extreme pads last night for the first time. Obviously I expected my darker spots to be completely eradicated by this morning. They weren't. However, I have a lot of hope. The darker spot on my forehead is as big as a pad!!!! Luckily with Mediterranean/olive skin they don't look awful but I would undoubtedly look better without them.

I was considering sleeping with a pad fixed against my forehead somehow....

I used IPLat a clinic to get rid of mine.

Mollyandmee · 17/08/2017 16:33

Donners how much did you pay? Seems to be a big range and some clinics saying once is enough and others saying you need a whole course

Make sure you use high spf sunscreen (min 30) if you are using nip and fab or any other acids. They make your skin more photosensitive and will actually increase your hyperpigmentation woes if you don't protect your skin afterwards. TBH, people prone to hyperpigmentation should use decent spf anyway to prevent new areas forming and old areas darkening.

Products like vitamin c and niacinamide fade pigmentation.

Flicketyflack · 17/08/2017 16:47

High spf sunscreen and sunblock. If you use acids to remove hyper pigmentation I would think it would increase sensitivity & maybe make it worse in long run if you do not use sunblock after hyper pigmentation gone.

Mine is better in winter but still use spf 40.

I've used Clinique's City Block for years. Still happened. Think it's my combined pill. Do you think if I switch to a progesterone only one it'll 'go down' as I'll have less oestrogen in my body? I have an annual pill check up next week. I'm reluctant to change pills just because of the upheaval but needs must I guess.

Is this the NIP + FAB product Mini?

I've got pigmentation on one cheek, caused by sunburn when I was younger. I've tried many products, including very expensive creams, lemon juice, organic cider vinegar and laser treatment but nothing works for me. I'll give the NIP + FAB treatment a bash - thanks!!

Are you supposed to just slap one on each cheek? Leave it? I've been rubbing

Buttercupsandaisies · 18/08/2017 18:15

I have a lot of it on my forehead - it goes away within months of coming off the pill as its related to oestrogen. I've been on and off pill over the years and it always goes. Maybe try progesterone pill or coil?

FennyBridges · 19/08/2017 07:06

Does this sound silly but I'm worried about starting a different pill because of the side effects. I know I ought to just go for it, but changing a pill to me is major...
