Are these boots (Fly London) fugly? Pic incl.

Used to love Fly London boots and shoes. I know that they are probably an acquired taste but I am wondering what the general consensus is about them on S&B.

I have a pair like those in the photo which I'm thinking of dusting down and wearing this winter (after a 2 year break). Are they awful?

Awful? No. Leaky? Maybe. The end!

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 05/08/2017 21:48

wot Donkey said

love Fly London but don't know why they make such leaky boots

GinIsIn · 05/08/2017 21:49

Umm..... they are a bit of an acquired taste

FatGirlWithChocolate · 05/08/2017 21:49

They are lovely..and I bet very comfortable.

neveradullmoment99 · 05/08/2017 21:52

I have a similar pair. Mine are the ruched black leather ones. Super comfy and i think they look brilliant with skinny jeans. Elongate the leg :)

lovethebeach · 05/08/2017 21:52

They look lovely I'm very jealous.

DoorbellsSleighbellsSchnitzel · 05/08/2017 21:53

I love these boots - have them in two colours! Not fugly at all (imho)...hope not anyway!

IlsaLund · 05/08/2017 21:54

I have a pair similar to those - they are the only boots I own that make my short stumpy dumpy legs look longish.
And unlike my flatter Fly boots these don't leak

Farontothemaddingcrowd · 05/08/2017 21:54

I like them!

Timefortea99 · 05/08/2017 22:08

Are they heavy to wear? When I pick them up they feel very weighty. I like the idea of a bouncy wedge but the heaviness puts me off.

ConstanceCraving · 05/08/2017 22:12

Yes, very.

NiteFlights · 05/08/2017 22:15

It's a 'fugly' from me.

Fontella · 05/08/2017 22:17

Not fugly at all. I like them!

WanderingTrolley1 · 05/08/2017 22:18

Quite nice.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 05/08/2017 23:22

Thanks for letting me know so far. Looks like they are still okay as far as most pp's are concerned. I appreciate that they could also be easily perceived as fugly. It's a close call, and that's probably why I liked them originally!

Timefortea99 they are definitely not featherlight but they are kind of DM weight I should think. Give the old legs a bit or a work out without being crippling or being responsible for nurturing corns or bunions Grin

I'm biased in that I'm a big fan of Fly. I'm currently wearing a pair of sandals of theirs, and I've also got a really funky pair of yellow shoes with ankle straps - all have the very distinctive wedge heel shape same as your boots.

What I like about them is they give you a bit of height but because your foot is virtually flat they are comfortable to wear.

It's what you like that matters. Not everyone is going to like the same style as you. I wouldn't wear kitten heels or stilettos, but I love wedges and platforms, whereas others can't stand them.

If you like them - that's what matters!

Beadieeye · 06/08/2017 15:51

Love 'em. Big fan of their boots (especially that style), also like their sandals with the buckle on but I can't have them as they don't flatter my feet at all!

Beadieeye · 06/08/2017 15:52

(I meant the sandals don't)

Ampersand1 · 06/08/2017 16:48

Fly make comfiest boots in the world and I used to live in rainy Manchester and rainy Edinburgh and never had a leaky pair and must have had 20 pairs of various styles over the years.

Dune boots though- another story very expensive and left me soaking.

FatGirlWithChocolate · 06/08/2017 20:53

I have a pair of red calf length lace up Fly boots that I adore..I live in them really..they don't exactly leak, but my feet do get wet in very heavy rain..I still adore them though. Apparently its because cardboard is used somewhere between the leather and the sole, and the way it's stitched causes it..I only know that because I read loads of reviews after I bought them and had a moment of doubt. Would 100% buy another pair though..I must have walked over a thousand miles in them and they have never hurt me in any way.
