I have Philip Kingsley Elasticizer and have tried Olaplex but any recommendations for a high street shampoo and conditioner that won't make the colour dull and brassy?

Have you tried the £1 argan oil conditioner from b&m or Poundland it's in a brown and green pot. Amazing stuff! I started using it and my hairdresser noticed a difference within weeks.

Fellow bleach addict here Smile. I really like Lee Stafford Bleach Blonde shampoo (Boots). It contains purple toner and leaves a nice shine.
I use intensive hair masks instead of conditioner. Mark Hill Miracoilicious is a favourite.

I like Lee Staffords CoCo Loco. Smells amazing and makes my hair less straw like. Went to get some and it was half price in Boots today, that never happens to me!!!

Will have a look in Poundland for that Niseko. Argon oil products are usually really expensive.

TheLuckyMrsPine · 04/08/2017 20:40

Sounds like Lee Stafford is the way to go!
I do have some Moroccan oil conditioner and use oil on the ends but find that heavy conditioners make it lank and greasy.

Realise I'm making my hair sound terrible - greasy and dry!

Holland & Barrett do a few suitable for dry damaged hair, all without SLS or whatever those nasties are. They are fab, have transformed by bleached hair. I usually go for the coconut one but have got a different one this time, equally lovely

I bleached (and then coloured) my hair twice in a week and then went to the seaside in February. It's no lie to say that my hair was literally a birds nest made of the driest twigs and straw one could gather.

I have quite thick hair though and I tried the Coco Loco stuff and I can't say it did anything tbh. The best stuff I've had so far has been the Toni & Guy damage repair range. It made my scarecrow barnet silk like. The only drawback is it has quite a strong scent.

I use an argan oil conditioner free from sls/parabens etc before shampooing, then loreal Levine colour protect shampoo I red bottle followed by the oil in same range on towel dried hair. 2/3 pumps. If v dry I condition after shampoo also. You can use the oil pre shampoo also on dry hair and post, on dry hair as a smoothing agent/serum. Oil was most expensive of those, not more than 10 I'd say and I've been using it a lot the last few months and still have about 3/4 of the bottle left. I have also found the argan oil (boots) good previously - on dry hair. Also if you swim put some oil through your hair beforehand.

Elvive not Levine!!

TheLuckyMrsPine · 04/08/2017 21:03

TheHiphop do you also need to use a shampoo for blonde hair to avoid the brassy look?

Find my hair can get a bit brassy about 4 weeks after colouring .

So oil through the ends before shampooing mikado?

Low shampoo has changed my fine, dry, bleached hair's life. No SLS or detergents, you use it like conditioner but don't shampoo first - feels weird until you get used to it, but it's amazing.

I've just rated myself to an expensive Percy and Reed one but actually thought the Elvive one from Boots was just as good.

mikado1 · 04/08/2017 21:18

Oil can be before or after, or both if needed. I condition then with argan oil conditioner before shsmpooing (rather than the usual condition afterwards). Hope that makes sense.

Have you tried any of the John Frieda Sheer Blonde range? There's a good everyday moisturising shampoo & conditioner and a purple one too. I swear by the reconditioning oil (comb through diamonds hair before drying). Boots do a 3-for-2 offer quite regularly.
