Fitflops - good for bad backs?

When my back recovers from its latest tantrum, I plan on doing some walking to try and strengthen it. This would be round my town for about 30 mins, 2-3 times a week, not yomping for hours through countryside.

I have been eyeing up Fitflops, wondering if they'd be good for this sort of thing, and just general wear. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Love them, have 5 pairs, boot, shoe, slipper, lace up, slip ons, but avoid the flipflop styles in case I wobble off the sides/ twist ankle/strain back as they are quite a height from the ground

They were hell on my back even though they were comfortable on my feet. I do have back problems and I have really horrendous pain if my shoes aren't right. Couldn't even wear them around the house. I wear birkenstocks throughout summer and they are the only summer shoes that don't aggravate my back.

For those of you complaining of back pain I urge you to try a sports massage. It hurts whilst they doing it but honestly worth every single penny.
As for fit flops and Birkenstocks I live in them all summer they are the most comfortable things on my feet.

I actually must agree with the sports massage.
I have chronic back pain, and regular sports massages keep the tension away.

I also have birkenstocks, so comfy!

Not sure about backs but they sorted my knee out. I'd hurt it in the winter and it played up until I started wearing the flipflop ones the following summer. After a few days of 'cracking and popping' the pain and discomfort was gone. I think I'd modified the way I walked somehow after the injury. I've got the trainer ones and the horsehair pump ones too now.

I love mine as regular shoes hurt my feet as I have stupid fibromyalgia which means my soles hurt a lot, fitflops make me feel like I'm bouncing
