Sorry StepAwayFromCake for pigging back on your thread but you inspired me to ask for help here too!

I think I've tried everything now and am lost for ideas. I have a very sensitive face with rosacea that none of the pharmacy/gp drugs have ever worked for (not that gp was interested in it much!). Any face toiletries have always been a hit and miss: at best they will make my skin feel very tight and itchy, at worst it will burn and turn bright red!

I've tried (and binned!) most I could think of: dermatologica calming stuff, avene, la Roche Posay, Clinoque anti redness, usual brands like Simple, Botanics, Garnier, etc etc. Got the Garnier micellar face wash for sensitive skin yesterday and I though my skin would break it was soooo tight!

I also prefer rinse off cleansers as have a feeling that the no rinse off stuff doesn't clean my sweaty face properly.

Am lost for ideas now. Anyone got anything obscure that I haven't tried yet?

Eminence Stone Crop. It's a gel that lathers and rinses off. My skin sounds very like yours and I find it helps!

I haven't read the other thread, so don't know if this range was mentioned on there.

This cleanser is not rinse off, but so far (c. 1 month) has been excellent for my skin. I have also reacted to almost everything available in the past, but using this has really made a huge difference to my reactive, previously extremely dry skin. Also available on Amazon, John Lewis

I also use their oil afterwards, but in very small doses. I also mix a tiny drop with my foundation, and it's the first time that it hasn't been sucked up almost immediately by my parched skin.

Thanks both!

CeraVe or Elave might be options?

Onynx · 31/07/2017 22:58

I have very dehydrated tight, sensitive skin & I've found Decléor cleanser to be brilliant.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 31/07/2017 23:01

TBS camomile Balm or Oil-i have the same skin as you and I repeat buy these. I use Aveeno cream afterwards as a moisturiser.

Ohyesiam · 31/07/2017 23:16

Liz Earle hot cloth cleanse and polish.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 31/07/2017 23:24

I would recommend proceeding with caution with Liz Earle as the essential oils and eucalyptus can really irritated sensitive /rosacea skin ime. The old formula from many moons ago was amazing but I don't get on with the new formula at all.

Moogoo milk wash is very gentle and recommended for sensitive skins moogooskincare.co.uk/milk-wash.html - I love it to wash my face in the morning, but prefer a milky/micellar cleanser in the evening.
Have you tried the Superdrug Simply Pure cleanser? You could rinse that off with a cloth/ damp cotton wool. www.superdrug.com/Simply-Pure/Simply-Pure-Calming-Cleanser-200ml/p/204286?v2&gclid=CjwKCAjwzYDMBRA1EiwAwCv6JuG6ntSzBgc3Jgtjl-6fYJiogmVWMSTESPQhUm1aTvQJ8EzeBn6rihoCFM4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

You mention La Roche Posay but have you tried the LRP Toleriane Dermo Cleanser?

Alke · 01/08/2017 19:57

uk.lush.com/products/ultrabland

Ultrabland is the best cleanser I have ever used, also have v sensitive skin and this is so gentle. Wash off with hot flannel.

Also is pretty good value and it doesn't have a strong scent so even if you're not a big Lush fan I would recommend.

Sali Hughes calls it the 'best affordable cleanser on the high street.'

Google the oil cleansing method and then try cleansing with jojoba oil. It is supposed to be closest in combination to the kind of oil that your skin already produces and hence suits almost everyone.

wobblywonderwoman · 01/08/2017 22:24

Liz Earle hot cloth

Coffeeonadrip · 01/08/2017 22:27

Thank you for all the suggestions. I can't use hot flannels etc as they make my rosacea flare up Sad

I like the Balance me restore and replenish cream cleanser as it almost doesn't make my face tight at all. I avoid water on my skin as much as possible but this stuff is okay. I don't wear much makeup though so not sure how heavy duty it is!

jeaux90 · 02/08/2017 20:55

I have sensitive dry skin. I really like the camoline oil cleanser you wash off. Have you looked at the medic 8 products? I really like those.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 02/08/2017 20:56

I just use cool water to rinse cleansers as hot water irritates me too.

UnidentifiedUser · 02/08/2017 21:15

My skin has transformed since avoiding all foaming cleansers. I stumbled across Caroline Hirons website and thought I'd give it a go, no foam on your face, double cleanse every night.
I use the body shop camomile balm, followed by skin facialist Una Brennan Vit C cleansing oil. Both wiped off with a flannel.
My oily, acne, sore, skin has never looked better.

take a look at talontedlex.co.uk - she's a beauty blogger who has rosacea and has lots of recommendations/ reviews - e.g. talontedlex.co.uk/2016/11/21/5-best-budget-cleansers/
