So if I were to treat myself to a nice mascara (more expensive than my usual collection 2000) which one would I buy?

Recommendations? I've just been given some Boots vouchers for my b'day, don't usually buy a lot in Boots and have been thinking about a nice mascara for a while. I hear Max Factor is good? The one being advertised at the moment? Can't remember what the full name of it is.

ah

afraid none of my recommendations available in boots

sorry

goingfor3 · 27/03/2007 17:41

The clinique is very good. There is another one that I can't think of the name of that's also good!

goingfor3 · 27/03/2007 17:43

Maybelline is what I was thinking of if you want something cheaper but decent.

greenday · 27/03/2007 17:43

I recently asked a staff at Space NK fro recommendation and she mentioned Lancome and MAC. I bought an Estee Lauder one thinking it would be better just because its more expensive (!) but was VERY dissapointed by it. Should have stayed with my good ol' trusted Maybelline.

I like No7 (boots) make up and I use their mascara they have a few to choose from and usually they have a free gift so you get a little extra for your money.

Think I might try the Max Factor one then.

clinque - the least fancy most natural one. I love it, everything else is clumpy and clumsy in comparison.

WideWebWitch · 27/03/2007 19:21

I have recently started using YSL effet faux cils and think it's excellent.

bakedpotato · 27/03/2007 19:21

A makeup artist who works on magazine beauty shoots told me mascaras are much of a muchness. She used Maybelline I think.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 27/03/2007 20:07

I have just got a lancome one and must say it is pretty good

ja9 · 27/03/2007 20:09

i really like the rimmel one that has an eyelash comb rather than brush.

RedLorryYellowLorry · 27/03/2007 20:11

I really like Lancome Definicils. No smudging or flaking or clogging. I also like Clinique.

paulaplumpbottom · 27/03/2007 20:11

Dior Show, its the best you can buy.

DeviousDaffodil · 27/03/2007 20:13

I am a mascara freak.
My favourite is Boots No7 Full Impact.
Thickens and curls.
The free gift bag is lovley to that they have on offer at the mo as mentioned brfore.

Chipstick · 27/03/2007 20:30

Lancome without a doubt - it just glides on and lashes never stick together.

(Their foundation is also beautiful - recently decided to try a different one and bought Chanel, hate it! Am definitely going back to Lancome.)

Fubsychicksnbunnies · 27/03/2007 20:34

I like the Max Factor one, but I cant tell the difference between the one in the gold packaging and the one in black (which is supposed to make lashes thicker and longer) - no difference on my lashes.

MrsBadger · 27/03/2007 20:38

I'm with ja9 - the Rimmel Xtreme Definition one with the comb is the only one that goes onto my weedy fine eyelashes without clumps and panda effects.

ArcticRoll · 27/03/2007 20:41

Agree with Dimpledthighs-Clinique Naturally Glossy.
Boots have got their special Clinique gift offer in their stores at moment.

PinkChick · 27/03/2007 20:41

boots no7 and if you also treat yourself to new lippy at same time(spend over £15) you et a free make up/creams bag worth £35 and £5 voucher!

deaconblue · 27/03/2007 20:42

I always buy Lancome. Any type but I have the definicils (sp?) and it's lovely
