Creed perfume

Has anyone tried any of the creed perfumes? All I have ever worn is coco mademoiselle... I love it's depth and how long it lasts.

I treated DH to some creed aventus and I love it on him, lasts and lasts. For even weeks on his clothes. I fancy trying some of the women's and hoping it's as strong and long lasting.

They're very, very pricey for what they are. I just depends if you love them or not as to whether or not you feel they're worth the £££.

I'd suggest trying the dupes on Perfume Parlour first (you can get small samples for under a tenner)...and then if its a 'love', you can invest in the real thing.

Creed Virgin Island Water gets a lot of love from perfumistas.
I personally only really love Creed Spring Flowers, but even then, I wouldn't pay 90-odd quid for it, so make do with the PP dupe.
And I bloody love (and collect) perfume...

I have creed virgin island water, the longevity is terrible for the price, I would agree with pp about trying perfume parlour before investing in a full bottle.
If you like aventus on your man I would recommend Irish tweed, perfume parlour have an Irish tweed scented wax tart which makes your house smell divine

The only one I like enough to buy is Acqua Fiorentina, which is rhubarb and sharp plum blossom. Sadly there's no PP dupe I have been able to find yet.

My DH wears Green Irish Tweed which he loves. It's expensive tho so relies on me to treat him for birthdays and at Christmas. Wink

I only like 'Love in White' for Ladies, but do find it quite strong. That being said, it's very subjective, I generally wear Chanel no.5, no.19, Eau de Cologne and Cristalle Au Vert (for work the last one), which last, but aren't as overpowering as Creed.

I much prefer the smell of the men's Creed (on a man), DH has a few, but Himalaya's my fave.

Love2dance · 31/07/2017 12:07

I received Love in White as a gift. I would never have chosen it for myself (agree with Somanyshoes about it being strong!) but love it for the right occasion. I'm also a fan of Royal Oud Millesime: it's also pretty strong, woody and spicy - pretty "masculine" (but see Sali Hughes' most recent column in the Saturday Guardian magazine about "masculine" scents).

My friend loves Love in Black and I like it on her, but it doesn't suit me at all (similar experience with Chanel Cristalle).
These are not everyday scents (at least not for me). I strongly recommend trying them on first but if you pick the right one they are fab, just not for the faint hearted!

When creed was relaunched about 15 years ago I used to sell it. The small bottles retailed at £39.50, I refuse to buy it now they have upped the price on the small bottles to £100 absolute mickey take!!

My son wears both Aventus and Silver Mountain Water - the last is a blackcurrant scent and very suitable for a younger man! Green Irish Tweed is the most famous of the men's scents and very safe, but I personally prefer Aventus and even Himalaya.

The signature 'note' of Creed scents is ambergris, and this works particularly well with some of the scents.

I have
Irisia, which is a green floral chypre not dissimilar to Chanel No19,
Tubereuse Indiana which despite its name is a glorious spicy carnation scent and gets worn a lot by me,
Angelique Encens which is one of the best smoky ambers ever made, Fantasia de Fleurs which is a rather sharp but old-school sweet floral - I don't really like it and never wear it,
Virgin Island Water which is a rather humdrum coconut and lime scent
Vanisia which is an unusual but wonderful floral and woody vanilla pairing in which the Creed ambergris note really shines through - not to everyone's taste though (if you like the original Must de Cartier then this is in the same family)
Jasmal which is a fairly straightforward but well made indolic jasmine scent,
Jasmine Imperatrice Eugenie which is a rich, glorious, full-on, proper 'occasion' scent, as perfectly blended as Chanel No5 but far superior IMO. Sandalwood, rose, jasmin, vanilla and that wonderful underpinning of ambergris. Bloody lovely and worth trying, but not for you if you like a more modern 'fresh' and vapid sort of scent.

I also had but gave away Acqua Fiorentina which gives a wonderful plum scent for all of 10 minutes and then becomes meh. I can't stand either Love in Black or Love in White. I completely agree with Love2dance that the Creed Oud scents are well worth smelling and are very well made.

Incidentally, I have many very old, vintage perfumes. Some are 70 plus years old (and still smell fab!). I have NEVER seen or heard of a Creed older than the 1970s. I think they have a very clever marketing department...

The Creed Vetiver is one of my fave smells. Adore it.

I make do with the perfume parlour copy but allbeauty . Com do sell it a bit cheaper than the shops if you want the real deal.
