Facial oils - recommendations needed for my poor dry face

I struggle with combination skin - shiny t-zone with large pores but tight and dry at the same time.
I cannot use most moisturisers, as they all cause me to break out. Through trial and error, I've found the only moisturiser I can use daily is Clinique dramatically different gel. It's great for the day but I need something more for nighttime.
I've used trilogy rosehip oil on and off over the last year. It doesn't seem to cause any breakout, but oddly seems to make my skin feel dryer?
For info I had DS2 6 months ago, so sleep deprivation not helping my poor face.
Any suggestions?

Superdrug Vitamin E facial oil. Bloody briliant. I have same skin as you. Are you drinking enough water too? I'm crap about that but do manage with fruit teas.

Clarins Blue Orchid facial oil if you are feeling spendy but SD one just as good if not better on my giant pored combination skin.

The Ordinary Marula oil.

Very moisturising, great quality and reasonably priced

Thanks sparkle, will look out for both. Re water, I'm trying but B'feeding currently which is drying me out. Will aim to drink more!

Check out the oils from The Hero Project. I got samples of the Glow drops and they're fabulous.

I use L'Oréal extraordinary facial oil. I have the cleanser and the additional oil. They are brilliant. The cleanser removes all make up and cleans my face without making it oily or dry.

Clarins Blue Orchid oil - my bottle has lasted about a year and helps perk my poor dry skin up!

woodhill · 30/07/2017 20:59

I love the Blue Orchid one too

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/07/2017 21:09

I'm currently using the L'Oreal one. It's quite nice but I had a sample of the Clarins one and that was really, really lovely. Will be treating myself when the L'Oreal runs out.

Lots of votes for the blue orchid, have just bought it on John Lewis website. Sounds lovely. Thanks all.

Lasts for ages, good choice

Oils itself will eventually dry the skin out.
Mousturizer is always a combination of emolience and hydration. Oil itself is emilience only. To get moisturizing effect it always needs to be combined with something hydrating. In the simplest for it means to apply on wet skin, or use hydrating serum or product before applying oil.

When buying face oil as with everthing, read what are you buying. Most of pre-made oils are overpriced sweet almond based. Buy different ouls and see what works for you. You can try argan or watermelon seed or wheatgerm. jojoba is great to support hydration, so is Emu. The lightest oil with is recommened for break-out prone skin is Kukui nui.

I really rate Latest in Beauty, you can buy a one off box of (mostly huge) samples for about £12 will free delivery. They always have loads of facial oils on there; you pick all your own items.

I love the Rodial facial oil.
